Jekyll and Hyde both showed up tonight.

For 37 minutes, WVU's 10 mad dogs were awesome, rattling one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the country so badly that they made only 34.7% percent of their 3's.
After that, that damn Hyde showed up, the 14-point lead evaporated in the toughest venue in college basketball.
But WVU STILL is a team that NO top 10 team wants to play in March Madness. The defensive tenacity is exhausting. The Mountaineers still can win it all, I believe.

Consider this:

WVU’s contest-every-shot 10 mad dogs held one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the country to 34.6%. Rattled them time after time for 37 minutes.

But WVU turned the ball over 21 times to 15 for Kansas, particularly during the collapse.

2 WVU players fouled out, a first this season. 3 Kansas players fouled out.

37 minutes of amazing tenacity by WVU wiped out by the collapse in the final 3 minutes. Wonder how the Kansas fans who left with 3 minutes to go feel now that they missed a fantastic game.

WVU still is NOT a team that anyone wants to meet in March Madness. The 10 mad dogs strike terror into every opponent’s heart.

Fantastic job his season by Huggins and the Mountaineers.

Regroup, go after Kansas again in the Big 12 tournament and maybe in the Final Four.

I remain damn proud of my alma mater's team. These guys are not quitters. Just watch.

I just don't see how you think WVU has a decent chance of winning it all. The fact that this team is so inconsistent is a big negative. Being able to win big games here and there is useless in a one and done format. If they can't string together six consecutive good showings in the regular season, I think it bodes ill for having to do it on less rest against at least 4 great teams. College basketball is great because there is always a chance, but having a good chance to ruin one or two good teams' dance doesn't equate to the same chance of winning it all.
