How soon does he start having to refute questions about job openings? Louisville probably. Must suck to be a fan of a program that loses their coach the instant they have any success.

I dunno, he might think he can do something where he is. Not like the west is anything special right now. I'd wait for a top program to come calling.

They will, he went after the Tennessee job last year and will have other similar opportunities soon. Bet Louisville is loving Petrino’s $14M buyout right now.

Tennessee is a hot mess though. You can lose that job in a year. But yah, a program like that.

I think it’s either Louisville or the NFL. Louisville would have to buyout Bobby Petrino a nice fortune for that to happen. Hoping it happens.

Don't see many big-name jobs coming open after this season, unless Urban "retires". USC is perhaps the only one, and I don't see Brohm as an LA guy.

Maybe USC.
I want to see him stay a few more years. I love that there competitive. I want this division as strong as possible. So tired of hearing OSU Michigan Pedo St and then everyone else. I don't want want see the big 12 North all over again. With the other division so loaded and our division known as the weak link.

I think he’s going to end up in the running for the Browns gig if thru can’t get Lincoln Riley. I really think they’re looking for a genius college offensive guy. As far as guys with systems that would convert well I think those are the top two. USC could be in play at the college level.

Dino Barbers is another guy that’s going to get a big job soon.

Good points, I hope he does leave because he is one heck of a coach

I could see him going there for all of those reasons, but I can see him staying at Purdue until that dream job opens up.

The Purdue gig is a better gig than it has been in a long time and he appears to have carved out a niche to get the kind of players he wants as well. It would help the B10 for him to stick around a while

I think you are probably right, as long as the administration at Louisville is coherent...makes me wonder with their most recent coach hire, and the deal with their basketball team. Brohm may stay away until that place bottoms out like we did.

I know that money talks and it's always about the money, but from what Brohm says, he's not going anywhere. He's likes West Lafayette, his family and kids love their schools, etc. Purdue has a new AD (last year) and Univ President/administration (Mitch Daniels, former IN Gov) who support the FB program financially ($90 new FB facility opened this year) and said they are willing to do whatever it takes financially to keep Brohm. He could build something special at Purdue, will have a top Heisman candidate in Moore and can churn out NFL QBs from Purdue every year.

UCF fans said all the exact same things about Scott Frost last year.

If he truly cares about his alma mater and wants to bring them back, none of the other things will matter.

I wonder how deep Purdue is willing to dig to keep him? They'd be a fool to not do anything possible to keep him.
They'd have to dig deep enough to be able to port him to parallel dimension where Purdue has any history of being a football power that can compete with bigger-name schools who will be trying to hire him away.

He's going to be on a lot of people's short list for sure. I m going to try to find what his buyout is. Purdue might be satisfied to take the$$

These are the same things every fanbase says when the possibility of their coach bolting exists. I think the most surprising case was Rich Rod to Michigan. WVU was his alma mater and he had no reason to leave but he did.

I don’t know what Brohm plans to do, I really don’t care but never assume schools, Disney (lol) parks, restaurants, etc. are whats keeping them locked down

Yeah, but is the university really committed to football? Even Oregon state has a better facility than what $90 can buy...

There's really not anything else he can say regardless of his true intentions. Not trying to be cynical, but we've all seen this play out before. If he does stay, even for just a year or two longer, it will be a boon for Purdue.

It was truly a grand slam hire and those are extremely rare. He's improved your recruiting, elevated your brand and delivered immediate results on the field. Despite the best efforts of a few of your fans, I'm actually pulling for you guys the rest of the way.

Enjoy it for as long as you can and be glad that he's leaving your program in far better shape than he found it. It sounds like you have a solid AD and the university leadership needed to bring in a quality replacement when the time comes.

I hope he stays at Purdue. We need our division as strong as possible and can’t be afraid of competition. That’s a total Iowa move.

7 year $29 mil that goes up every year and buyout goes down every year. Buyout after this year would be $3.3 million.
Buy out is not an obstacle but Purdue also has the big bucks of the B1G revenue share to play around with. My guess is he stays at Purdue but gets a big raise to do so.

Could be. What I found interesting in the article about his new contract, done in the spring of this year, it also included an interest free loan for his contract buyout from his former gig at WKU. I would have thought the university would have just paid that. I guess in reality they are. It gets reduced from 900k this year to 600k next year. That pretty much eats up his raises until that buyout loan is paid off. Kind of strange. Maybe he can at least get that tweaked after this year

Wouldn't shock me in the slightest if Brohm is at OU next year if Lincoln Riley takes either the Browns or Cowboys job.

Louisville is a much better job than Purdue. Purdue is always going to be a bottom feeder in the Big 10. It's an engineering school and not much to do there. They're not going to be lining up a bunch of high quality recruits.

I just saw on TV here in Indiana that tickets for the Wisconsin game are still available for $15 through the ticket office. Coming off wins against ranked opponents the last few weeks, I'm not sure how far Purdue is willing to go when they're throwing tickets at fans to try and fill a stadium that holds under 60k. We got four tickets for $60 via the ticket office to watch Iowa play at Purdue. I know there are some high profile donors that give to Purdue, but it's not just money. It's a fickle fanbase that can disappear like a drop of water in the desert...especially once basketball starts.

Can’t wait until he is out of the division, heck of a coach.
Why? Makes the division stronger as well as the conference as a whole, plus closes the gap between East and West. The more competitive the Conference is, the better record post season.

F that. I'd rather the rest of the b1g west suck balls. The crappier the rest of the division, the better Nebraska does. Sign me up for dominating the West.
