He's a helluva football player. After the beating he has taken, 90% of receivers would be "hearing footsteps" and dropping balls. He's getting crushed on those high throws.

Sets a great example for the young guys, and you can see some of those guys growing and becoming warriors before our eyes.

Agreed. Aside from that fumble, JD had a great game and continued to keep getting up off the turf. With JD, Wandale and hopefully Mo, the offense will be tough moving forward.

The way Martinez hung him out to dry? I would be getting in his face. JD showed restraint and played a hell of a game.

While I hate seeing our guys getting killed out there, I loved the never back down attitude shown by so many of our players. Tough SOBs repping the N

Martinez has been hanging him out to dry since the beginning of last season. Always thrown late, behind and high

Agree this is a problem, but the other part seems to be coaching: When Illinois was sitting back there waiting to light up our WR’s I wish we’d run more routes where the WR could sit down in those spaces and not worry about yards after catch (grab it and get down). Trying to hit them in stride ran them into the coverage.

Yep. It's weird that Amart and Wandale seem to have better chemistry than Amart and JD. The ball is generally in the right place for Wandale, JD has to go get it.

I have my doubts JD will be back next season. He was a member of the 2016 class so he should be graduating next spring at the very least. I bet he goes pro and tries to make an NFL roster.

Not saying he isn't going to be back next year, just how I view it.

I hope he gets a 6th round to free agent grade and decides he’s got unfinished business he doesn’t want to leave here. Going out with two losing seasons in a row has to make a guy hungry to come back and finish.

And I’m not dismissing the obvious allure of leaving a dumpster fire for the NFL, but just hoping he stays. He’s been one piece that has shined (minus the MN game).

I wouldnt blame him, but am hopeful hell be back to finish what hes started here. It could help his grade too, even though ultimately his dad will see to it that he gets his chance somewhere one way or another. Hes got the skills that surely somebody would want too.

Heres to hoping he can hit 1000 yards this season and still stay!

IMO, think if he leaves, he does so as a grad transfer. I find it curious he repeatedly declines media interviews. During games his frustration is apparent. He has more resources due to NFL family ties than most college players and thus is getting that behind the scenes consultations perhaps to steer him to a program that can maximize his talents one last year before he enters the draft. Wouldn’t be crazy he’d end up at Oregon State.

I agree that he seems frustrated and hasn’t seemed that happy since Riley left. I disagree that his talents aren’t maximized. He has been very productive and has had a ton of touches the last two years.
