He took Terrence Jones. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I guess he actually never signed with Washington. I thought about that as well

I never heard Cal say this but it has been repeated on here a few times

Could be fake news

I would love to have him, especially if he is eligible immediately.

It would be a good decision for him, since he needs to learn to defend and Cal teaches his players that for sure.

Would give us much needed experience. Would give us a proven shooter.

Even if he has to sit, he might be worth it. Learn the system this season and then play in the 18-19 season.

I wonder if Cal is willing to give him a shot?

I was hoping for a grad transfer guard next season.Looks like we will have just 3 guards next season assuming Briscoe leaves.

Why do people keep saying this? UK isn't done recruiting guards via JUCO/grad transfer. It's only March. They added Mulder/Murray late in the process a few years ago.

JB would have gotten a lot of pt after his Fr year.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't JB a FR the year
we had the twins, Ulis & Booker?
Last year, we might not have needed Mulder
if we had JB and of course this year he could
have been in the rotation instead of MM.
(or maybe we lose Munk or Fox if JB on board)

Him and Blakeney are two intriguing potential transfers.

If the coach leaves I thought the players could transfer without sitting a year, is that not correct?

Coming Fr who have not played can be and usually
are released by the school if the coach leaves.

Don't think a returning player can be exempt.

If a school is banned, players can transfer without
sitting out a year..........

Someone "splain " this better...ok

I think if the school grants a release, which they are not required to do due to a coach firing, so long as you go out of conference you don't have to sit.

I'm concerned JBJ wouldn't have much success here. Cal demands playing defense, or else no PT. JBJ has already developed a lot of bad habits with regard to not playing hard on defense.

Consider this..T Crean is fired and hired by NCS.
He takes his team with him. (actually has 3/4 very good players)
Add these to NCS 's returnees and you have a very good team.
Don't believe the NCAA would allow that.

Don't have access to the rule, but still think I'm right.
(coaches could really get big pay days for bringing in a team)

Maybe a C Martin like pay day for two brothers.

Bet he could, D wasn't required at IU.
Monk finally learned D. Could've learned
quicker if he was required to.

That's the part about getting a release from the school I would guess. School would surely block that request.

I honestly wonder if Blackmon actually has the lateral quickness to defend anymore.

He's had a few knee surgeries and REALLY has trouble keeping his man in front of him.

At first I wondered if his effort was poor (very possible at times) but now I simply don't think he has the lateral quickness to consistently stay between his man and the bucket.

Likely due to the knee surgeries.

There no other guards weve been mentioned with, none. Mulder we had heard some stuff about and Murray was at least on our radar.

U prolly right......JBJ wanted much PT, thus going to IU.
If he transfers, likely go where more PT is offered.
Could he beat Alex for the 3rd Guard PT.?
(1st off the bench)

Well I would imagine JBJ would be among the best of the grad transfer/Juco players.Dreaming if we expect another Jamal Murray to come out of the woodwork.

Hopefully we get Kevin Knox to get some more firepower next season.Bamba would add great defense but offense is big concern next season.

He is a good shooter and scorer, but his D is pretty lackluster. Not sure how well he would do here considering that. If Cal wants him though, I say go for it.

Defense is simply knowing how to play defense (teachable to anyone), having the athleticism to implement that, and most importantly EFFORT. Most major conference players are capable of being good defenders.

Even if he is a Mulder-type (and he would be way better than that) you could find a role for sure for him.

I have significant doubts that would ever happen, but I'm not one to hold a grudge. So, if he wants to come to UK as a grad transfer, I would take him all day.

Having said this, Calipari has made his opinion on grad transfers widely known, especially after a couple coaching friends of his got burned by a guy transferring like that. He may not want to take Blackmon.

If he could play next year, I don't give a **** about his D. We will have rim protectors and no shooters.

He would defend under Calipari or he'd be on the bench. Guys with his talent CAN defend, they just don't do it because they get away with it.

but really though, I'd love to have him. he has 2 years left due to his injury last year right? Take him and play Green, JBJ, and Diallo as another 3 guard back court....

Due to his shooting and experience, I'd rather have JBJ than Knox
