Curious to see what happens with the Saints. An outdoor concert in Oct cancelled and the first preseason home Saints game is Aug 23. First regular season home game is Sept 12.

I think the best comparison for us is the UK. They're about a month and a half ahead of us and cases were going down, but now they're going up again. I think the USA won't get back down to current case rates until the beginning of October at the earliest.

ive heard from a friend that lives in the NOLA area that the NOPD and EMT sources are understaffed on an average day. They would be seriously understaffed for an event like JF. That issue, along with food vendors for the fest that are running into the cutoff date to order food for the fest , forced JF officials to go ahead and make a call. They couldn’t wait any longer. I think they’ve known for a couple of weeks but had to contact bands, vendors etc before announcing it publicly.

Yep… pretty disappointed to see an outdoor event cancelled. I thought it was decided outdoor events were fairly safe.

They went down in the UK because they were still in a lockdown. It was mild by their standards but was much more draconian than anything we ever ACTUALLY DID here. They also are much more heavily vaccinated than we are. Now they are mostly AZ over there. Not as good as what we have. In England they lifted most of their restriction a couple of weeks ago.

Get vaccinated...but if you don't you increase your risk of dying but not at significant level..but you decide if that increased risk is worth the risk......

I am vaccinated and have had the covid....but if some one decides not to have the vaccine...that is their choice.

If someone get the virus who is not vaccinated that was their choice...more power to them...but that is their choice.....their chance of dying is greater than the vaccinated who get a second infection but still at al low level....roll or the dice....

Driving a car has a level of risk.....personal choice...
