Great NBA debut. 21pts 7reb 5stl. Also hit game winner.
Glad to hear it! Hope he has more stellar nights like this especially when the regular season tips off in the fall!Great NBA debut. 21pts 7reb 5stl. Also hit game winner.
I agree with you. If I'm Kennard, I'm stoked that JJ just got the money he did. At the same age, Kennard is much more versatile than JJ, so hopefully he's hungry to prove he's as good or better than him. If Luke works hard, he could have at least the career JJ has had, no disrespect to JJ thoughTatum is built to be a pro in today's NBA. He's potentially a 1-4. Kennard is also having a very good summer league....doesn't look out of place one bit. I know it's still summer league but I was in the camp that believed his athleticism, especially on defense, would hold him back. Still don't think he will be more than a role player at best, but there are far worse fates.
Tatum will be a star, and possibly Duke's best pro ever in time....
One thing I did disagree though and I had to rewind to make sure I heard it right, sorry I don't know who was commentating but they said "right now Tatum is a better 4 than 3". I just don't agree with that at all.
With the addition of Heyward how do you think it will affect the other of Jayson and Brown. Also find it funny that that no talent Butler team we beat has better NBA players than we didJayson and Jaylen Brown looked really good together last night. I know it's one summer league game but having two wings like that, at 19 and 20 years old is exciting for Cletic fans.
Tatum looked smooth. He is built for the open spaces of the NBA court.
Hayward is certainly the best NBA player of that game. But as a team Duke definitely wins that race, they have him and Mack right? Am I missing anyone else? With the addition of Heyward how do you think it will affect the other of Jayson and Brown. Also find it funny that that no talent Butler team we beat has better NBA players than we did
No. Matt Howard plays in France.Hayward is certainly the best NBA player of that game. But as a team Duke definitely wins that race, they have him and Mack right? Am I missing anyone else?
IMO, there's not even a difference in those two positions in today's NBA unless you're putting a bruiser at the 4 anyway. The Celtics are a perfect system for Jayson because they are "positionless" much like Duke. He gets to just play and learn. If he gets to run the O off the initial or secondary break, he's going to be All-NBA in no time.
I don't watch the NBA and I don't doubt one bit what you're saying is true hokie, but, the commentator apparently disagrees with you because he stated "he's a better 4 than 3 right now".

Shelvin Mack was and is still in the NBA.No. Matt Howard plays in France.
No other players were even on the NBA radar.

Coach, I think both Brown and Tatum play and play a lot. Obviously more if Hayward was not there but Stevens likes to play his bench and loves versatile forwards. Brown and Tatum will play a minimum of 20 minutes a game IMO. Especially if one or two of Bradley, Smart or Crowder are no longer in Boston. Which seems very likely. Unfortunately so but that is the price of doing business in pro sports. Jae Crowder became my favorite Celtic over the last few years and I would hate to see him leave. With the addition of Heyward how do you think it will affect the other of Jayson and Brown. Also find it funny that that no talent Butler team we beat has better NBA players than we did
You should add another question mark.????????????????????????????
You haven't been introduced to JWill yet sir? The staff at DI have been working with him with some sensitivity classes. They are doing shock therapy right now with him, so the long row of question marks are probably the result of that. We hope in time this will start to pay off, if not the dosage will be increased. Please be patient DennidenYou should add another question mark.
To be fair, I had listed Mack in my post which he was replying to, in reference to the only two guys butler has in the NBA from that team. You should add another question mark.
I think one of Ainge's goals is to someday have a shot at Anthony Davis. Frankly, he would fit is perfectly in Boston's system. Brad Stevens is very much like coach K is in offensive mindset. Versatility is key and Boston has that all over the roster , sans up front at the moment. Boston could make a very enticing offer for any big time star. AD is a star that you shell out everything for IMO. I am very happy Ainge decided against giving in to ridiculous demands for Paul George (a one year rental mind you) or Jimmy Butler. Both of those teams ended up taking back less than they could have gotten if they had been reasonable with Boston and not demanded everything or no deal. JMO.Jae Crowder has one of the best contract values in the league. It's a shame that he's the most likely to go, because he really offers a lot to the team. If the Celtics can unload his contract (not too hefty at 6.7 mil), they should be okay for signing Hayward and staying under the salary cap. I've heard some say that the C's won't get much in return for Crowder because everyone knows that they're trying to dump salaries. But, if you're an NBA GM wouldn't two 2nd-rd picks or a first be worth the price for Crowder? Ainge isn't going to get proper value for him, obviously, but I think NBA GM's are missing out if they don't try to separate themselves from other organizations with a half-way decent offer.
Personally, I'd like to see the Celtics go after a superstar big man like Anthony Davis. They could include Crowder, Horford, 2018 Nets 1st Rd Pick (almost a guarantee to be top 5), 2018 Lakers 1st Rd Pick (potentially more picks if needed) . A lineup of Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley/Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown/ Jayson Tatum, and Anthony Davis would be a threat to win the whole thing.
Anything the Celtics do for the next few years is irrelevant unless Lebron goes west, which is getting less and likely with each superstar moving east to west. Whenever Lebron slows down (if that ever happens) than it will be interesting to see if the Celtics take the throne with all their assets, if the Bucks take over with Giannis (will be a MVP someday) or if Philly takes over with all there young blue-chippers.I think one of Ainge's goals is to someday have a shot at Anthony Davis. Would a trade of someone like Marc Gasol or Anthony Davis to Boston to go along with the core already in place change that in your view? I actually think Boston getting Hayward closes the gap a good deal. He is a legit threat every night. Boston had one legit offensive threat every night last year and Cleveland took full advantage of that for sure.Anything the Celtics do for the next few years is irrelevant unless Lebron goes west, which is getting less and likely with each superstar moving east to west. I just do not see top a 20 player in Otto Porter. Beal and Wall are a problem for everyone though. That is a good team IMO. I dislike them for obvious reasons but have nothing but respect for them. Not this coming season, but both the Bucks and Sixers are looming in the East (Bucks obviously sooner than the Sixers). The Wizards too if they can turn Otto Porter into a superstar player, or superstar acquisition
