Yeah being ranked #1 on December 5th makes no difference in the grand scheme of things. But the better ranked you are, the more likely you are to stay at or near the top and that matters a whole lot when it comes to seeding. And seeding matters a whole lot to tournament success.

He's being honest. Just look at last year when his Nova team was destroyed by Oklahoma. Sunk in the polls and left for dead. You know what happened later. He's right and Cal says it all the time too. They just want to see their teams get better and better for the March run.

Being ranked #1 right now is meaningless. It's true. And in terms of Jay Wright, I couldn't give two ***** about him..but I respect last year's Villanova team simply for putting that dagger right in the heart of UNCheat..and all of their fans. That ending was priceless and with his Airness in attendance. Haha !!
