Well what heck did he do all season as far as practicing his handles. He knew he was backup pg when Lowe went down. Had 5 months to improve but actually regressed. Love to know how much time he spent in gym trying to improve pg skills. He is pouty and super unlikable. Kentucky kid or not. Popes fault for playing him at all!

This isn’t really the way it works. A tight handle is something that takes years to develop …and if you haven’t picked it up by a certain age you’ll likely never get it …it’s not something one acquires during the course of one 5-month season.

It was obvious from day 1 that playing him at PG was not gonna work. And not just because of the poor handles, he also wholly lacks the court vision and passing skills, and can’t defend quick points either.

That’s one thing I’ll say in his defense. He probably would’ve done better this year if he hadn’t been forced to play the wrong position throughout much of the season.

Jasper is a streaky player who can really go on a tear. He has a petite frame and looks boyish on the court. It’s really difficult to play men when you are built like a boy. Did they have a weight program at his school? Didn’t his football family members offer to train him?

With a much stronger build, he could spell time at a PG position. But to play PG against men, you either need to be strong or be really fast with an incredible handle. He is neither.

His season would have been better at 2G but injuries and departures put him in a bad spot. He needs a true off season transformation, regardless of where he plays. He also needs a PG so he can play on the wing.

The Martin kid from High Point, he was small, but so unbelievably quick, Acuff even had trouble guarding him. Like you say, got to have a special gift if your small or thin.

Same with JJ. Say whatever you want about MP, about MB but the leave the freshmen players alone. It’s normal for them to do mistakes they are freshmen and had a horrible coaching!


If you think this year was bad , just wait for next year…..who will want to come and play for MP and a fan base that attacks players and their families .

lol no he didnt. his shooting stats are the same. he got double the minutes and went from 2.7ppg to 5ppg. still gets beat like a drum

Not really. The only thing that changed was his playing time. He did get more minutes at Ole Miss, but he otherwise remained the same flawed and limited player that he was UK.

Attacking where? On here or social media? Because on here it's fair game.. And on social media long as doesn't Cross a line,, criticism will happen... The freshMEN (and the rest of the team) get paid millions,, so suck up the criticism nowadays.. Moreno thing was waaaaay over that line by whoever did it..

I’ve never been impressed with the kid. Even his highlight videos are trash. Yeah, he can step back 3, that’s about it. When we signed him, my reaction was like meh, isn’t that good. Definitely not a year one impact guy. I think Pope felt pressure to sign him as an in state kid and a legacy.

moreno is a project. his was exposed pretty badly in SEC play. but being 7 feet tall can still do some things.

Never said he was a PG. But if you don't think he is a talented player, then you know very little to nothing about basketball.
