They went through all the unbeaten teams or teams with 1 loss that are still "in the hunt". They led off with WVU.....and he laughed and said "last time they went undefeated was 1922....and you think it will happen?" But when it went to Washington and the PAC 12.....he was complimentary to the team and conference.....same with all the other teams except Ohio State, in which he crossed off as being out of the playoff hunt.

Let's just assume we finish between 12-0 or 10-2.....next season we will be pre-season ranked 20-25....while the ND's of the world will be back in the top 10.

I saw him and knew beforehand he would not give any love to the Mountaineers. I wonder if it all an act to entice the venom of WVU fans or if he really believes what he says. Regardless, if I was HCDH I would play a clip of him to the team before the game Saturday in Stillwater. I think our boys play best with a chip on their shoulder.

He's the type that is just waiting, hoping, praying, for a WVU loss so he can say "I told you so". And, if it doesn't happen, he is also the type that will NEVER say anything other than "well the Big 12 is down....they don't play anyone...." because he's already said that about WVU, yet he says Washington is "much more challenged". WHAT? The SOS numbers do not support that Jason....

I wouldn't worry about what a washed up ex-jock talking head says. His ex-wife is the only reason anyone knows anything about him these days. He's kind of like Frank Gifford, but slower on the uptake.

I'm gonna be honest and this is not because he's been disrespecting WVU, but I don't think he's very intelligent. Seriously listen to him talk. He's an idiot about everything.

Ok, if true, why is he not going after ACC or SEC schools where the fanbases are larger and TV sets are as well? Instead he goes after WVU. I don't think this is part of his "talking head to stir up crap". I think he really disrespects WVU athletics.

Because ESPN picked up the old Jefferson Pilot rights to exclusively televise SEC and ACC sports a decade or so back?

He works for ESPN and ESPN has monetary stake in the other conferences unlike the BIG 12, besides UT of course. ESPN isn't going to crap where they eat, so they'll treat the Big 12 just like they treated the Big East.

Ok, fine. But explain why (in the past) they have pumped up teams like TCU and Baylor when they were undefeated? You don't recall those?

1922????? I seem to recall an undefeated regular season far more recent than that. Did we not have a, widely distributed, scoreboard display saying PERFECT?

He was talking about post season as well.....again, skew the numbers to fit your agenda. That's what ESPN is good at these days and why a LOT of people are jumping ship there.

It doesn't really matter what these guys say. The only way to prove them wrong is to keep winning. Its time to focus on Oklahoma State and getting to 7-0. That's all that its important at the moment.

I saw what he said and didn't think much of it. He said at the beginning, and I'm paraphrasing, "I've always said WV has a good football team, but are they one of the 4 best teams in the nation that deserve a spot in the playoff? No, not right now. If they beat OU and Baylor, then yes." I pretty much agree with that. No big deal.

ESPN has been good for nothing but watching our games on their network in recent years. The fact they're running mostly a B and C-crew nowadays shows they aren't in this anymore to give us sports, but bench jockeys shouting opinions on it. All they need to do is be a little more blatant with their agenda and they'd reach "Fox News of Sports" level.

He also said that "WVU hasn't played anyone yet". Really? So, Jason, our SOS is better than Washington (85th) and Ohio State (40th) and Michigan (50th) and Louisville (42nd)......and we haven't played anyone?

A couple of things. The way to show this guy he is just another sports writer ,,( as was the one who when Mickey Mantle had his liver transplant asked the dr in the press conference" Hows the donor) is to go about it the hard way and win out. We can do it if we stay this focused and play determined football. Or we may stumble along the line. But losing a game in D 1 isn't like it used to be when there were scholarship limits. Of the 120 + D1 teams ,as I will always call them, how many finished unbeaten the last decade. The loser is a writer like him who can't enjoy a great sport like college football is. He will look back some day ,(possibly) and see what he missed by looking for a way to be phoney and biased, and wasted his life.
2 as I have said here many times I worked in the print media for awhile, and you stay or go, based on readership, advertisers will pay higher bucks for those writers people read. Why waste your time in life reading someone, who if you know what they are going to write already, and therefore pay him/her for writing that means nor changes anything at all. He won't win or lose our next 6 games and college football is not one bit better because of a writer like him. I say Let's Gooooo Mountaineers, it's always a great day to be a Mountaineer. And people like him can just go and write their opinions I'm the bathroom, there's almost always a roll of paper in there to use.

I absolutely agree. You do not have to listen to him long to know he really has no clue on most topics they discuss.

You bunch of freaking babies...grow some thick skin! He said bad things about us....boo freaking hoo! For every 1 of him...we have 100 WVU fans who think we are the best team out there, but can't name 6 players on our team.

There is a big college football world out there. There are more teams out there than WVU...not everyone is going to think we are great...that is ok.

I personally like the banter...

I personally could care less that he said anything negative about WVU. My issue is he was completely unprepared to make the statement he made. He said WVU had not had an undefeated season since 1922. I just don't like when people in these positions are not prepared for their jobs.
