and if we have another bad season. Look out its going to get ugly.
I just hope we have a season! Because if we do I think it will be a good one. I expect our offense to be better this year under Lubick and with a healthy AMart and a seasoned Jurgens. To me the big question mark is the defensive line.

As for Jason Peter ... am I the only person on here who doesn't care what he thinks? Neither he nor his brother were exactly Boy Scouts while playing here. And if the tweet was about a specific person associated with Warren's establishment then say so. Stop the melodrama Jason. To me it just reeks of an attempt at seeking attention.

Just win baby and this **** goes away.

Just remember how some of us were losing our mind when Dickerson and KJ committed elsewhere. Jason's tweet followed by Benning's response might help us understand that there are influencers working against the Huskers inside of our state's boundaries. Likewise we have alums coaching or with training facilities in other states promoting the Huskers which has benefited us. We need to keep an even keel and stay as positive as possible when things we don't like happen because we usually don't know the whole back story. Recruiting has changed dramatically over the past 10-15 years even for academics.

Jason? Is that you?

Nope. Just a lifelong husker fan whose boys would know for years ahead of time whether they wanted to play for the huskers or not. I know they sure as hell wouldn't pick Iowa because they love me too much and know the pain it would cause me. There must not have been that pain in the Johnson household.....

I would be shocked if we don't have a season in some format. The thing that seems to be going around most is cutting non conf games and just doing 9 or 10 conf games. What the exact benefit is of doing it this way I have no idea. Im mean what does it help to have 2 or 3 less games.
My concern would be finishing the season before the fall 2nd wave/ flu seasons kicks in.

Benning seems to be saying it is a guy working at Warren Academy, run by Steve Warren, where Fidone and Dickerson train. Seems like this clown was bad mouthing Nebraska and Peter either blames Warren or mistakenly thought it was him.?

Early on in this thread, it made me think of some tweets I saw a couple of weeks ago. Then I logged off for the night and I come back and see that they fit better than I thought they did.

Wow. Damon is right, that is some BS. And Jason’s post makes sense now. I’m not sure I agree with throwing Warren under the bus because the guy works for him (but honestly he should straighten this guy up or kick him to the curb) and I think Jason could have made it clear he wasn't talking about CJ sooner.

Maybe I’m minority on this one but I don’t believe him

If he really wasn't speaking of CJ then this is even more concerning. That means there are others out there talking bad and steering recruits away from Nebraska.

Stability is about winning and going to bowl games consistently and having a staff that has been in place for a while.

In a 5 year snapshot, they have been head and shoulders above NU in that regard. That's the only time frame that matters in the minds of recruits.

Yes they have not dominated us on the field of play but in terms of standings, bowl games and stability of staff they sure as hell have in the last 5 years. That's not envy, it's logic.
The only programs who care about bowl games, 8 win season and a 20 year coach are programs like Iowa. Top programs/ blue bloods that stuff isn't good enough unless that 20 year coach is winning championships.

People act like those of us that are angry about the programs status are the cause of that status, and that isn’t true. The guys down there running the program are responsible for it.

I agree with a lot of your angst, but you overreact. We are going to be okay under coach Frost. If I can just keep from losing my sanity until then...

I agree. People say we must get Nebraska kids. No we don't. We need Nebraska kids who have dreamed of playing for Nebraska for as long as they can remember. If Frost and Co have to beg Nebraska kids to come to Nebraska it is meaningless that they are from Neb. At that point go after an out of state kid with more talent to fill that scholarship.

Exactly. We can easily fill a roster with 3 stars. Unless it's an elite talent theres no point in exerting more effort on a decent player from Nebraska when u could be recruiting an elite player from Florida. We should be the first to offer and first to build relationships but if local players don't want to play here then screw it. Omaha seems to be the problem trend.

Sounds to me like the Johnson household is a well-adjusted one.

If Archie Manning can handle is most talented son heading to Tennessee instead of Ole Miss, I think you could handle this.

Infighting is part of life in any big business if it gets big enough. When a brand gets so big and peoples' expectations are not met, conflict happens.

Time to win. And as I have said in other threads this spring, I'm glad Scott is leading the men who committed to him.

Read the thread. It’s a trainer at Warren Academy, where guys like Dickerson, CJ and Fidone train. Hope Warren kicks his *** to the curb.

When that post was made, I don't think any revelations about trainers were unearthed.

I'm also not convinced that it wasn't, at least a little, directed at CJ.
OK, fair enough. I do think he was talking about the trainer(s) at Warren, but he also waited like 24 hours to say it wasn’t about CJ, so you could be right on that account too.

You would like to think he could ignore this clown’s influence. But obviously it’s enough of an issue to get the attention of Benning and Peter.

When does JP get hired by Frost? We need a bad cop. He's the baddest. On the planet.

And the next time you post something intelligent, it will be the first time.
Wow, sick burn. But how else can you respond? You know I’m right, and the only way you can respond is to call into question my intelligence.

I’ll tell you what... provide for me a supportive post of the huskers that you’ve made in the past and I’ll never respond to you again. I’ve asked for it in the past and have yet to receive it. Or will it be more of the same? Trash the huskers and the husker posters... the ball is in your court.

Also why would a trainer have such high influence to potential flip 3 Nebraska kids away from Neb.
Edit sorry 2 and a heavy neb lean Iowa kid.

They can be hugely influential. They train these athletes and promise to get them to where they want to be, the athletes trust them and look up to them.

We’ve benefited a lot from out of state trainers who played at Nebraska directing their kids to us... it happens probably more than we realize.

I guess Tommie Frazier been out for quite awhile then. He’s been wearing Creighton gear to Bluejay basketball games or does he get a pass because his kid doesn’t go to Creighton.
Wearing gear of the home team playing is an issue? Should he show up in Baylor gear? Root root root for the home team and all that

He is very gifted at smack talk. He told me that he lives "rent free" in my head. It was epic. I just wish that we could handle all of his tough questions.

Think he used that one on me once too. Told him the only place he lived "rent free" is in his parents basement.

He uses it on everyone that disagrees with him, it’s the only thing he can come back with..

No Reality tries so hard trying to fool us he is a Husker fan but too no prevale he gets frustrated and butt hurt over it..

Just watch his reactions like Lincoln100 pointed out he just wants to get a reaction from you..

He beats off to that self satisfaction..

I have no idea what CJ has said. As a parent Im going to want the best for my kid. Doesn't matter what college I went to. When looking at Nebraska and at Iowa. If Keagan had chosen Nebraska he would be surrounded by a ton of young top level talent. He is going to have to fight every step of the way to possibly see the field at all. Going to Iowa he will at the top of the hill and could be a 4 year starter. This gives him a better chance to get noticed and possibly make it to the NFL. Im sorry but as a parent Iowa probably gives him the better odds to play. It doesn't mean CJ doesn't love Nebraska it just means he wants to give his son the best odds at success.
Now that being said, if CJ is going around trashing Nebraska to other potential recruits and or their parents that is a whole different thing. I don't know if that is happen, if it is he deserves all the **** he is getting. If it is just him advising his son for the best possible outcome, I see nothing wrong with that.
Never mind just saw his above quote. Yeah, the guy is going to have a tough time showing his face around Nebraska. Might want to just pick up and move his family to Iowa.

You realize that Iowa will have two SR WRs and both could win some all big 10 honors and two Frosh who had tons of catches last year...and a 4 star Oliver Martin on the bench with others. WR hasnt been a strong suite of the KF area but this might be his best overall group in his tenure. Dont think Kegan is coming in and playing anytime soon. Redshirt then see the field some as a Frosh is probably his path.

It don't think it was Warren. It was somebody who worked for Warren. I hope the clown has his resume polished up.
He's an elite natural athlete, very smooth," Game Changers Academy owner and Dickerson's trainer Mike Goolsby said. "Prototype measurables, he's very long, has a 6'4" wingspan. Runs a 4 ...

It's Goolsby, if he's the same ND grad.

Jason Peter was an awesome DT and one of my favorite players from the 90s. Clester Johnson - meh.
That's not relevant to what I posted. But it appears that Peter was not talking about Clester Johnson, so my post isn't relevant either.
