Because he will get paid more and can win at a higher level. Why wouldn't he? What other big job is gonna come open after this season?
Because, he can look at the fate of every coach who has come here and he will see the fate that awaits him.

Why would anyone take a job that they know will almost certainly result in them being fired in the next 5 to 6 years?

You mean he'll walk away with a generational-wealth-building buyout? Sign me up for some of that. Neither Beamer nor his kids or grandkids will ever have to work again, if they so choose.

He's making $1.75M a year now, with an 8 yr extension after last season. He already has plenty of money.

He can win at NM and not have to deal with being an SEC bottom dweller with a delusional fan base.

Ya’ll are delusional until Carolina can find substantial NIL money, the coach doesn’t matter. Times have changed

Because the kinds of competitors that are successful as high level college football coaches are confident in themselves. They pretty much always take the jobs at Auburn, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee etc. You think we're the only revolving door there is in the SEC? At the other revolving door schools it's 2-3 years so our 5-6 years is an advantage.

I guess a good coach might come here because the bar is so low. If he could win 6 or 7 games a year here he would be our most successful coach ever.

In the list of teams you post, one of those things is not like the others.

You mean because he will get paid more and can lose at a higher level, plus walk away set for life?

That's the pattern I've been seeing for a while now.
