I'm 50 and I will swish 3 after 3 in warmups too.
I already qualified in my post that warmups are different. And also, I'll bet any amount of money that you wouldn't swish 3 after 3 like Janowski did. If I'm an ******* for saying he looked good shooting based on my limited exposure, so be it.

I mean, unless you’re sending him in to foul someone, which you shouldn’t be doing at the end of the 1st half, then I agree 100%. You either give someone enough minutes to get into the flow of the game, otherwise I don’t see the point of putting someone in for less than a minute of PT. Just doesn’t make any sense.
The fact that Sam and then Cale at the crown are getting minutes at all tells us where we are at. When Sams eligibility runs out we need a change. I like Sam and Cale but we aren’t winning anything in P4 with them on the court.

Then why on Earth would you wait until someone’s eligibility runs out before recruiting over them? Do winning programs do that?

Nope. We have never been a winning BB program. Fred had leverage ( contract) right or wrong. I think next year is Freds last.

Do you think Fred’s getting fired a year from now? Because he’s not just walking away from $15 million.

Probably not. Doesn’t mean he shouldn’t. I said this in Memphis last year when Texas A&M beat us. If sam has to play quality minutes this coming year ( 25) we weren’t going to be good. And we weren’t. The crown tournament is a joke . We didn’t even qualify for our 15 team conference tournament .

Tim Miles had back-to-back postseason appearances in his final two years at Nebraska. He went 22-11 and 19-17 those two seasons, so yes he fell just short of that ever-so-magical 20-win number in one of them.

I'm well aware Fred isn't going anywhere. I just hope the roster improves enough that next season will be a decent one. If he can put four new starters with Mast and his other returning players become bench pieces, it could happen.
IF Mast comes back this fall, he makes us a lot better but we’ll see if the kid from St Thomas can partially fill the hole left from Brice’s departure.

20 wins this year was an illusion but at least winning that tourney gives us a better psyche heading in to summer.

Yes, if we miss the B1G tournament again, 2 years in row Fred is toast. How the hell can you give a coach an 8th season (8 seasons!) who can’t finish in the top 15 of an 18 team conference? Probably should be fired if makes the B1G tournament but misses the NCAA, but I don’t have enough confidence in our administration to chalk that up as a certainty.

I’m not disagreeing with you about what should happen if the Huskers finish in the bottom three of the Big Ten again, only about what will happen. Fred has an amazing number of Johnny SuperFans who have already written off this year’s finish as a fluke driven by bad officiating and their own fairy tale assessment of the B1G as the toughest league in the country. I just don’t think a similar finish next year is going to prompt a change, even if it should.

Blue is not even close to what Brice is. Blue is a great athlete and defender. His O has been a work in progress since HS. Very streaky.

Can you really accept a bid to the crown tournament 2 years in row? And not fire your head coach? Yikes, I get it if you fire your coach and let the kids play the tournament with an interim coach. Otherwise the optics are just terrible, flat out pathetic. You’ve basically waved the white flag and surrendered any misconception that you care about winning anything substantive. Recruiting would be almost impossible under those circumstances.

And I know Fred has some super fanboys, a couple in high places. And Fred is a likable guy with family connections to the program, but you can’t go to the Crown 2 years in row without firing your coach. Especially if it’s his 8th season. Makes zero sense, but I guess I can’t totally rule it out with our administration and donor base.

That's why I said PARTIALLY fill. No way he can fill Brice's shoes. That would be ridiculously unreasonable to expect just about anybody to fill that role.
