Anybody heard anything about his progress at OLB this fall? I had forgotten all about him in that freshman class of linebackers.

He was always described as raw. Probly gonna need time. I’m not a film expert but he looks slow to me. I’m not getting my hopes up, but sure hope he pops.

The name that I’ve never ever heard coaches mention is David Alston. He looked like he had potential out of HS and has apparently fizzled. But he was on the sideline for Indiana.

Also on DL Tate Wildeman has really disappeared after coming off injury. We need him and Robinson to emerge moving forward.

True about Wildeman. I wonder if he is tweener, kind of like Stille. I hear alot more positive things about Robinson, Newsome and Rodgers, so I would assume they are all ahead of Tate right now.

Majority of these defensive guys will have to go through a couple of seasons of War Daddy Up before our coaches commit involuntary manslaugher by throwing them into the B10 wolves.

So far there is Zero evidence for any War Daddy Up actually working. It's more like Patty Cake Daddy Up.

Javin Wright and Jamin Graham have both suffered injuries. Parents to both of these players have stayed in the motel that I stay at so I know this is true.

Anyone with experience in the weight room knew it was smoke the second it was uttered. Any edge in S&C will strictly come with supplementation...and that's only if our competition isn't doing the same thing.

He has insufficient speed to play OLB and is too small to play DE in a 3-4.
Precisely why I hate the 3-4. In the last 3 years we've recruited 1 guy that has the ability to play OLB in the 3-4. Hell NFL teams struggle to find guys that can play that position. Unless youre routinely pulling in top 5 classes I dont think its realistic to run a 3-4. Wisconsin can do it because they've done it forever and know how to develop guys to fill in that position. IMO we shoulve never changed from the 4-3. Hell I'd take Pelini's 4-2-5 over this.

Exactly, we have a whole roster with players for a 4-3. Only smart coaches can make a 3-4 work without the players like Wisconsin's DC. What a disaster.

I remember when Diaco came in and Parella who was DL coach at the time commented unquestioned at times how he hated the 3-4 to the press. He knew better than the rest of the coaching staff and couldve told them that d was never going to work here.

So in the minds of some of you, Nebraska will only win again if they run an I formation power run offense and a 4-3 defense.

There is going to be some seriously upset Nebraska fans because that ain’t Scott Frost.

Well, the I formation thing has been an argument for a long time. Nebraska hasn't won anything of note without it or power football, so I can understand the argument.

I would doubt any fan is going to be upset if Frost can win. Whether he runs I formation, 4-3, air raid, or 85 Bears defense will not matter.

As long as Frost can adapt and change if things aren't working, fans will continue to be supportive, IMO.
