Of course he would have played him.I’m not sure about that. He made impressive decisions with defenders in his face all day. Nebraska would be a much better team with Burrow as QB... not that Frost would of played him anyway.

Anyone that says Bo couldn’t have got him wasn’t paying attention, at all. Burrow wanted to be a Husker bad. Bo chose another kid.so there's a camp that says bo could have got him, and a camp that says bo couldn't have got him.....frost I don't see in the equation..if indeed bo snubbed him the first go around...
Im just trying to keep it 100 jedi
Behind you-know-who's offensive line?I’ll do this again, why not.
Joe Burrow absolutely wanted to come here, bad. But Beck and Pelini had no interest at that time. Burrow even came to a camp and they didn’t even talk to him. Why? Because they were all in on a transfer student from Sweden playing JV football in Texas. You heard that right, playing JV. Fast forward and Bo gets fired and Riley is hired. Riley cuts ties with the Swedish kid, who end up playing H-Back an North Texas and OSU hires Beck as their OC. Riley tried to flip Burrow, after all Beck was the one that didn’t want Burrow in the first place, but fails. Fast forward and Burrow never gets a shot at OSU, so he decided to transfer when Frost is hired. Frost decided to roll with true Freshman Martinez instead and Burrow ends up at LSU.
Something to keep in mind is that it never seemed like Borrow would be the superstar he is now. He was a 5.7 3-star recruit out of HS and never sniffed the field at OSU. I wanted us to go after him because he was a legacy and seemed to fit what Beck and Frost want to do, but never dreamed he might win the Heisman.
What you all are forgetting that Burrow would be trying to operate behind this current o line. Good luck to him.

I don’t think anyone forgot. He would not be doing what he is now, but we would be better no doubt about it.Behind you-know-who's offensive line?

Ironically Beck had the most to do with shunning Burrow then ended up coaching him at OSU.I’m suggesting that BO/Beck chose poorly by taking Dillman over Burrow
Burrow would have easily made this team an 8-10 win team. Easily...if he didin't get killed by our O line. Injury is something you can't predict. I don't agree with you about much but his time you're right. His maturity, football IQ and talent would have made a huge difference for us. Hindsight is always 20/20 though. How good would Barry Sanders have been at NU? Better than Terry Rodgers I suspect. He has been sacked 19 times this season facing a lot of pressure against the teams on the schedule that were top 10 when they faced them and still dropping dimes. He would have been doing the same here. Would he have won a Heisman here? I doubt it but I bet with his ability to find the open receiver with pressure in his face or his ability to buy himself more time he would have us sitting with 7 or 8 wins right now. He is better off at LSU for himself but f that, this is a massive failure on Bo and Frost.

I think you over estimate the number of conference titles Tom had before Barry left college football. Tom had his struggles for years and he took over a national championship team with systems in place and a stockpile of talent from basically unlimited scholarships. The two situations are not remotely similar other than they both coach Nebraska. Tom was already the OC and in complete control of the offensive recruiting and play calling when he took over and had been for a number of years. Now if Tom would have had to take over when Bob did, maybe he wouldn't have done any better than Frost. He was 4-2-1 his first year in conference after taking over a national championship team.I think you agree with me on more than you think.
Osborne could mask his misses with New Years day bowls and conference titles. Frost cannot have too many more of these while he is rebuilding.

I was at the first game that Osborne beat Switzer. It took him a while. I think Turner Gill was probably the guy that drove Barry out of college ball. Again, he was 4-2-1 his first year in conference after taking over a national championship program. That's a damned far cry from the sh## show Frost inherited. He had 5 outright and 3 co champs through Switzers tenure at OU.

Different line. Big difference. Steve Taylor talked about it on a post game show how not having confidence in your line affecting QB play. Also, my two cents, running back play.Martinez was considered a Heisman contender after last year behind our line. Now he can't even execute a swing pass half the time.
I love the hypothetical post we are now enduring.
WHAT IF Martinez is 5-5 and Gebbia is lighting it up.?
WHAT IF Martinez is 9-1 and Gebbia is 2nd string?
WHAT IF Mccaffrey wins starting job and still struggles because of bad o-line play and receivers that cant create separation.
WHAT IF Mccaffrey wins the job and leads us to the BIG 10 West promise land.
We could do hypotheticals all day long.
You most certainly brought Osborne in to the discussion. Eventually he'll have to make bowl games and have consistent winning seasons. I think if he missed a bowl game next year he would be facing some pretty serious pressure. Do I think he would get fired? I think it would take blowout losses to bad teams to cost him his job. JMHO.Correction. 4 and 3.
Yet was still 5-2 against ranked teams.
I wasn't comparing Frost to Osborne anyway. I said he can't miss on talent and survive if he can't make bowl games and obtain winning seasons.
thanks, didn't realize that, but, yes, this year he appears better than what we got, but lsu's o-line does, tooUmmm when Joe transferred from Ohio State Frost was well in the picture.
