You have to admit that they probably have better sources than most of us. They also have reporting bias that affects how they convey things. Gotta get clicks and being positive about NU football is probably a better business model than some other approaches. As with any, source, I read stories with a critical eye.
We already have one poster who "knows it all' and likes to argue endlessly with anyone who happens to disagree with him. Do we need another?

I know a lot of fans would hate to admit it but those guys have what, 20+ years of covering the Skers, they clearly have SOME sources and get SOME inside information.

I'll give you the arguing and know it all, but HTO had some serious inside info going on. Maybe he's not too heavy into that anymore, but he did bring some good stuff to the table.
There has been so much turnover, and such diverse groups of coaches that very few people "in the know" have survived to have any knowledge or influence. Bo wasn't the most trusting guy and had a ton of creepy stuff going, including being recorded by people in the stadium during a rant, Reilly didn't know anybody and didn't care about the locals, that means people had to try to crawl back into influence during the Frost years in hopes of knowing something and then Rhule came in and has been about as closed off as anyone, he is deeply private and very protective of his family and coaches. Everything Rhule does with media is very well thought out and limited...and they have to be very positive to get any attention...same thing for Frost, and Bo. So what is the point of having dirt on someone, if you can't share it in fear of not having access.
It’s about support staff relationships. Lots of people in the athletic department have been there for decades. My brother and one of my brother in laws used to know several guys in the football offices that were there from Osborne through Frost.
