JR finishes 7-14, worst record in 20 yrs? Give credit to the coaching staff they brought JR basketball to a new low, congrats to PM good luck going forward

Are they just going through a rough patch? I remember when they were in the hunt on a yearly basis it seemed

That was 07-11 they had a talented group with a point guard (07-10) who needed no coaching, he's currently running the JV program at Cave spring with a record that speaks for itself. Outside of that they have not made it past region since the current coach took over about '02 or '03. His lifetime record without that group is barely .500. Sad state overall in a lot of peoples opinion.

Yeah I remember that group that you're referring to. Ethan Humphries was one of the best pure point guards that I've ever seen. They had another kid, I believe his last name was Bennett, who was really good as well. I remember watching them beat Buckingham in the state championship.

Bennett is 2nd in all time scoring and rebounding at JR, Humpries has school record w assist and i think 8th or 9th in scoring. Both played 4yrs varsity(that always helps in the all time stats) they had good teammates that all played as a team on both ends with good fundamentals, you know those things that aren't a big priority in AAU but still win ball games.

What ive ever been around didn't impress me overall 4 qtrs of run and gun by most teams. Bennett never played it, Humphries did but I think he had an old school coach that had certain expectations from his players. both had rec coaches who grew up in a different time as well.

My soon to be step son played AAU last year and it was a joke. No fundamentals were taught and many times you'd travel 3 or 4 hours and half the team didn't even show up, and in some instances the coaches.
