The defense definitely fell apart when Palm's came into the game. Agree, not sure if it was Palm's who was to blame, and we should note that Palm's was the 5 at that point as both Reiber and Cliff had 2 fouls. So he might not have been familiar with the centers responsibilities.
Asking Oskar to play the 5 is asking too much. No way he can succeed there but kudos for trying

They are both poor defenders. So Oscar was brought in first, stunk, and so then in came Agee. What’s the difference man? Sheesh. They play a different position from Jones where we have less other options for subs when there’s foul trouble - but all 3 are bad at defense which is the reason they are riding the end of the bench. That was my point.

In the first place I said “Iowa’s offense showed it’s only sign of life during the stretch we were forced to go to our deep bench and play Agee”. You can add Oscar to that statement if you like. I was referring to the end of the first half when we had to go deep into our bench up front. Iowa went into the locker room with some momentum on offense. I went on to say that since Agee hit a few baskets the defensive drop off in having to play him that stretch didn’t hurt us that much. That’s when you came at me pointing to the plus / minus which was ridiculous - considering we were discussing defense only and Iowa scored more than at other points in the game when Agee was playing.

It doesn’t matter where the pass came from - kick out, outlet, perimeter whatever. Our strategy throughout the game was to contain Murray’s short game using our 3-4s to keep him out of the paint. Resulted in a lot of assignment switches with the wings getting caught in the paint during the game. A better 5 would’ve been there on that bail out with his length to at least get a hand up. Agee tried - he was just late. You can say it was more someone else’s fault if you want, but he certainly didn’t help us on that possession. Agee’s shooting foul on Toussaint wasn’t good either. Those 2 things are basically the only things he did on defense because he was only in the game for 2.5 minutes. I’m still missing what the problem is with saying it didn’t hurt us that much having to play him since he contributed a few buckets on offense. How is that an unfair statement? He wasn’t “good” on defense and Cliff clearly was better. No?
No offense Bro but you are rambling.

Did Oscar and Agee play together at the same time? I don’t remember the exact sub patterns. It wasn’t really Germane to the point I was trying to make which was in response to comments about Jones lack of relative PT. Oscar, Agee, take your pick. We had to put at least one of them in despite their defensive shortcomings because Pike wasn’t going to let Cliff or Dean play with 2 fouls. It was helpful that Agee contributed on offense. There was no way Jones should’ve checked in to relieve Cliff in the 5 slot.

Ya that was pretty clear. I don't know if it's the Sweden HS angle, but Palms still looks a ways off. I think there is ability there though.

I don't know either. I feel Palms wasn't the only bench guy at the floor at that time, but I'm not sure. We were definitely a mess during his minutes though.

None taken. Since you didn’t answer my question, I’ll assume you just don’t have an answer. I did not rag on Agee. I said it didn’t hurt us to have to play him because he made some shots. Your retort was completely uncalled for.
