Going back to look at freshman guards and wings over Pike's years to see what type of PT they got from the beginning.....
All were part of the rotation from Day 1 with Geo getting 30+ minutes from Day 1
Who were the other guard options besides Sanders that year? Maybe Miller would have gotten those minutes if he was a freshman that year.Going back to look at freshman guards and wings over Pike's years to see what type of PT they got from the beginning.....

alright already my analysis has had enough holes poked in to it.Who were the other guard options besides Sanders that year? Maybe Miller would have gotten those minutes if he was a freshman that year.
Not saying that he can't. Just saying that if he deserved more time on the court,Not sure what you are trying to say here … every substitution that is made, the player is not necessarily better than who they replace on the court. Basketball is a team sport. Are you saying he can’t help us at this point?
People can sugarcoat this all they want. It is a bad sign that he has been a DNP. It doesn't mean he gets completely written off, but the probabilities that he will be a big factor for us has taken a hit. It by no means is zero. Players obviously progress at the different paces, but we know in early November he wasn't ready.
Yes. He is a center...totally different learning curves.Paging Myles Johnson on Line 1, Year 1, paging Myles Johnson......
Paul Mulcahy averaged over 18 minutes a game as a freshman. Some of you guys are just absolutely clueless. Him not playing isn't because he's a bad player. He's a freshman, as we saw last year not every freshman plays a ton.
Contribute is one thing. Compete and win in the Big Ten is another matter.Yea that was what I was going to say, the Souf Mensah, Matt Bullock's of the world aren't that hard to beat out for playing time. We don't really have any sort of dead weight on the roster now, every guy that is on scholarship (with the exception of Luke Nathan) can come in and contribute.. Although im weary on Palmquist.
Said it with Agee and I'll say it with Miller, people need to stop talking themselves into every player Pikiell brings in.
Paul Mulcahy averaged over 18 minutes a game as a freshman.
Do I really need to go look up other frosh who played? OP and other are suggesting we might be able to use him for a few minutes. That's not asking for the moon.
Of course, if there is a larger plan including redshirting involved.. that's a different story. That is how Gonzaga became Gonzaga.. redshirting many.. then add in some big Mormoms getting that 2-year mission thing in... went they built their rep they had a lot of 5th year and older players. And now they can recruit with the best of them.
I am for upperclassmen dominating the PT.. however.. when you have a case of starters in slumps.. bringing in a frosh to shake things up might add some motivation.. a little kick in the pants. I don't know how many times I suggested the same thing for Rutgers QBs...
ehh.. I suppose that's harder to do in this age of the transfer portal.
I said that people's expectations for him were overblown and I still believe that. He scored 9 points in his "breakout" game. People on this board were penciling him in for averaging double-figures.Didn't you say it about Jones as well......I believed you recently used the term "overrated".
I'd add to that argument that the stats are end of year stats. But at some point a decision was made to play the freshman Mulcahy without support of said stats.Making an argument here.....
That is tougher competition than what Miller is facing

Based on the large sample size of 2.......with the offense we have seen so far he may have to average double digits and defense suffers (unless he improves here).I said that people's expectations for him were overblown and I still believe that. To be fair, it wasn’t like they were competing against much for playing time.Going back to look at freshman guards and wings over Pike's years to see what type of PT they got from the beginning.....
