I agree with you 100%, just trying to lower expectations for some that will be disappointed if he doesn't commit after saying that. I'd love to get Greg Brown, kids a certified animal.
The 2020 class is really loaded. Its hard to make a wish list. Think any chance Maker reclasses for cats if EJ or Nick ?
Brown is someone I think could make a case for #1 before end of Summer. This is why I referred to there would be 10-12 guys who would be in contention for #1 if they were '19 players. Brown is immensely talented. Just another sign of how great this class is.
Maker, I'd take over any UK big man on the current roster in terms of talent, but I like all the '20 guys more then Nick/EJ. The versatility of the '20 bigs means you can sign 3 of them and they can play all over--with 1 being a true role player of defender/finisher. (possibly Omoruyi??) with other 2 being able to cover all aspects inside/out. Todd can play SF offensively too. It's scary to be that tall/versatile. Todd could be #1 pick in Draft type of mover if he chose UK with what UK staff would do with him. I'm projecting UK will sign at least 7 players in '20 class.
So many things will play out and have to keep in mind that Clarke is 99.9% going to reclassify and right now he's heavy lean to UK. Kuminga is young enough to stay in '21 which might benefit UK too because he reclassifies, he jumps up the list ahead of others.
Would be great to get Isaiah Todd in fold to start the commitments for '20 class.
I've been more keyed into the late 19 recruits, I'll start asking around about the 2020 guys. It'll be interesting to watch the Nick and EJ situations bc I feel as if UK is in a good position to get Mcdaniels, mixed reviews on blackshear. If UK were to miss on both a 2020 reclass could be huge for UK. In the beginning I thought Nick and EJ would both be back, now I'm unsure given the talent Cal is recruiting at their position for next years team.
I asked you a specific ? in another thread about your confidence/info on Jaden McDaniels, so looking forward to reading that. I've got nothing.....on him or Blackshear. My only take on Blackshear is that he's focused on NBA stuff now and will make a decision quickly if/after he withdraws. Think writing him off is too soon and just thinking that McDaniels is waiting to see how roster at UK unfolds before making a decision but maybe that doesn't matter and he's UW bound? Again....no idea??
Richards is likely to return more then EJ but EJ would be doing a Jarred Vanderbilt and going knowing he'd be a 2nd Rd pick at best.
I'm going to get morg to PM you specifics bc I dont want to put it all out there on here. Heard in early Feb he told staff he wanted to play at UK. Heard from another he wrapped up his recruitment in late march and all signs point to UK.
My worry is everything I hear is so positive that the inner circle may just be releasing ultra positive news for both UW and UK, although I haven't heard any UW news at all. It feels like a Kevin Knox recruitment in the sense he's waiting as late as possible to announce while he's still playing ball/living in that area to avoid adversity from friends, family, student body, etc.
If I was putting Odds on it based on what I've heard I'd say 70/30 UK.
Cool. How the hell do we PM things on this board? I'd gladly engage in that with people so we can communicate more openly. I feel stupid for asking because it's likely been available for us for years.
Appreciate your take/info and look forward to hearing more. My thing with recruiting info is when you start hearing the same thing from different people, that's when it's becoming probable. Or if you get it from a source that is high up--like my good friend is...then I trust it 100000000%. lol
McDaniels dream was to play at UK. Like to see kids with talent live out their dream and in this case think it would be a perfect match for him/what needs to improve. Know others are down on him for his lack of physical strength, etc....but the kid can play and his poor shooting game against Lewis/Antione on ESPNU at the HoopHall soured a lot on him.

His lack of passion, animation, and energy means nothing compared to Nike and their "perks" .

Most recruiting guys say this class is pretty weak. It’s better than the 2019 class but still weak. Bossi actually said recently he thinks it’s still a weak class.
Think for just a moment... The fact that Cal/ UK, doesn’t/ won’t/ can’t “cheat”, if you consider that, the recruiting efforts are simply amazing.
I hope we're still his dream school on signing day.

I don't put to much stock in what they say either, I remember Luke Kennard saying the same thing too. It would be great if he does come to Kentucky but I'm sure all of the other schools along with their perks will be in his ear.

Agree to disagree with them. It's up there with '16 group overall and has so much athleticism with skill. Like the improvement I'm seeing from guys who were considered beneath the top 10 heading into AAU season. '19 is good, just don't see a lot of NBA star power with this '19 class and nothing wrong with that, but I'll put '20 up there with several classes. Very deep with players.

I'm not up to speed for 2020 recruits. Who are our options and which players do you see us getting? Also would like to hear from @ralphdaltonfan on this. He was talking the other day like we most likely will have a great 2020 class.
