I noticed in the box score that Jaden Jones played for 5 minutes in last night's game. How will that affect his eligibility going forward? Is there a maximum number of games that a player can in without burning the redshirt?

Thanks.

This season does not count as a season of eligibility for ANY basketball player, just like the fall 2020 season for football.

Thanks. I had forgotten that. So we should perhaps see more of him in the tournament. He's supposed to be a good shooter, which we could surely use going forward.

He would only play if we are getting blown out or we are up big. You are not going to throw him into a competitive NCAA tourney game to say the least.

He can shoot but apparently his defensive game isn't at the level yet where a coach like Pike will play him

He looked pretty athletic on his first drive to the hoop.

He did.

Even though it was a really tough angle he seemed to float in the air and hang up there for a while. Kid oozes potential. Would have liked to see him shoot more (just so i could assess him... lol)

Looks like he hunts his shot but isn’t overly aggressive. Smooth stroke and can create space for his jumper. Yet to see if he can get to the rim but physical maturity will help in that area.

Really? A kid who hasn’t played any meaningful minutes is going to suddenly play in the tourney?

I will patiently wait and see.

what I do know is that he hasn’t been used yet in a real spot.

given where we have been at times the past month that tells me he has quite a bit to go.

Gonna throw this out there about Jones with a huge degree of respect for how far JJ is from really stacking up but he seems to shoot and move a lot like Ayo. Look at his form on the three point shots and how he moves and floats like Ayo. Both move like a cat out on the court and are very fluid. We can only hope he’s anywhere near that good. Ayo is obviously an incredible talent.

Jaden Jones is basically a high school senior

Don’t know why some are already projecting his future success based on what he has or hasn’t done at RU thus far.
