I doubt he plays before February, but if he is able to contribute he could get a few minutes here and there. Even 5 min per game could go a long way. Obviously depends on situations,

If we get the Seton Hall game ever scheduled, that could be a good chance for him to come in, once we’re up 30 in the second half

Jones is not getting on the floor this season. But Maryland had an enrolly named James Graham - who might actually be necessary to play. He's a scoring machine - who could actually help them bums lol

Anyone who says Jone definitely will or won’t play doesn’t know what they are talking about and guessing unless their name is Steve Pikiell.

It is a free year, there is no reason to not play him some.

Unless things change, if he starts playing NEXT year, he will only have 4 years. Playing some this year, he will still have his 4 regular years plus this year. They can work him in slowly(classwork, weight training, etc), but in my mind he should get some playing time if it truly is a free year.

You are not wrong, but it will be very difficult to get even a highly talented freshman playing time when he will have just arrived and every game counts in the meat grinder that is this year’s Big 10!

I looked back from 2003 until today, aside from 2003 - Webb and Douby and 2008 Rosario and Echinique. We had some pretty brutal recruiting classes pre pikiell. The Mack Jack Seagers one was high rated but that was more so on quanitity and not quality.

Looking back we were lucky to have top 150 recruits at RU. Yea we had a few sprinkled in, Sanders, Nydiaye, Mack. But my god the rest of the classes after those guys were pitiful. Hoping that we can continue an upwards trajectory and continue getting kids like Cliff and Jones and not guys like Souf Mensah and Malick Kone.
