Not sure how many of yall watch MMA but Jacobe Smith was on Dana White’s Contender Series tonight. He won his fight by TKO in the 2nd round and got offered a contract to the UFC!

Nic Pic won in week 2 by split decision and fights again in 2 weeks.
Jacobe looked incredible, the guy he fought was 10-1 and he almost beat him to death. He legit looked like a Top 10 welterweight
I’m expecting some really exciting things to come from Crutchmer’s academy in DFW. Picc and Jacobe are pretty involved

Just saw that Jacobe will make his UFC debut on January 11th! He’s filling in on short notice against Preston Parsons.
The quickness and power on that straight - hook knockout sequence was damn impressive. He’s a must watch fighter.
Crazy to me how little these guys fight. Picc has fought 8 times since he graduated what, 5 years ago? I mean I get it, it’s a dangerous sport, they’ve gotta be bored though lol
Depends on the fighter but I think a lot work normal jobs in between fights. Some also teach lessons and coach and stuff like that.
The guys making money stay in camp like it's two full time jobs. I don't think boredom is an issue, but money may be.
High level NCAA wrelsters have a tough time getting lower level fights. Fighters don’t want to fight them but they need them to learn and develop in order to move to the UFC.

First round KO for Jacobe. His opponent had a body lock and tripped him to the mat but Jacobe immediately and I mean immediately reversed it and started on some nasty ground and pound and slept the guy
