might have been the 5th oneIs it the 2 turnovers?
I agree. Bad matchups in this game for both he and Mulchahy for different reasons. His speed move is a semi hi carry/palm move that won’t work against certain defenders.
Same with Paul.
They’ll both see very little time against elite on ball defenders like Purdue had
Disagree. Our offense was non existent for long stretches of the second half.He was our only player that broke their D down on a couple of occasions. His D is always stellar .That being said he has to control the palming, turnovers & his composure. This was his first shaky game after several good ones.Going forward he will be an important ingredient to our success.Pauls dribble was way to high & he monopolized the clock, without any scoring threat. It is his minutes that I would cut. With Caleb stellar & Geo getting healthy, they deserve 30ish minutes.Of course matchups will always dictate the rotation.Sometimes we need his offense off the bench. We didn’t need it last night. Also usually Mathis will come off for him and Mathis was playing excellent defense.
Bad segment after many good games in a row.So you don't play the guy, who is a big time talent and lockdown defender?5 Turnovers in 12 minutes
Should Pike wait until he ha 7 or 10 turnovers? No 1 guy is the reasons why RU is winning right now. Pike is going with who is playing the best at the time. Young had a rough out of control game. His D was not out weighing how he was hurting the team in just a small number of minutes that he played. Pike did the right thing. Young will bounce back and he'll play a lot more minutes.Bad segment after many good games in a row.So you don't play the guy, who is a big time talent and lockdown defender?
I didn't wince about his turnovers from going too fast and losing the handle or dribbling the ball out of bounds after his steal. He wasn't dribbling into the trees in the middle and getting caught in the air with nowhere to go with the ball. Those kind of turnovers made me wince. He has not done that in a while unless I missed it some place. He was going too fast yesterday. He did not calm down with coaxing from the bench so Pike pulled the string. I'm sure the message got through. He'll fix it and settle down or he'll watch. .Starting to really like Young, though. Speed is over the top. His attitude fires up the team. They blew out Purdue when they were running (with JY in) up and down the floor. Purdue caught up when RU played slow-down and couldn't buy a bucket. Young still does sh*t that makes you wince, but not nearly as much as he did early on. I like this kid...

My thought during Purdue's comeback was it might have been nice to have someone who can create their own shot.Sometimes we need his offense off the bench. We didn’t need it last night. Also usually Mathis will come off for him and Mathis was playing excellent defense.
Also reverted to playing out of control on a couple of possessions in a row & turned it over on each.I watched on DVR and was fast fwd'ing through much of the stoppages, but why did he play so little in the 2nd half?
No. You don't. He was hurting the team last night. If you were unable to see that, I don't know what to tell you.Bad segment after many good games in a row.So you don't play the guy, who is a big time talent and lockdown defender?
