I am going to miss watching this kid so much next year. Alot of people get frustrated when he turns the ball over here and there but he never lets those things effect his play on the other end of the court. I say this 100% serious and without an ounce of hyperbole, he is the best on ball defending guard ive ever seen at the college level. His ability to just totally wreck the other teams best guard and force the opposition to tweak their offenses to try to screen him and get him off their best player is astounding.

Does he push the envelop sometimes on offense? Sure. However, alot of that is the product of our offense or lack thereof needing someone to make plays and hes the one who can consistently beat the opposition off the dribble.

we’ll look back one day and remember him as being an ELITE defender, the likes of which we may never see in an RU uniform ever again

Ditto . Kid competes every possession no matter what the score . You’ll live with some of his aggressive turnovers because of this . I hope he decides to come back but I doubt it. The one kid on our team that other teams cannot stop in a one on one situation

He’s my favorite player and he gets too much smack around here. Just so much fun to watch. Even when it looks like we’re down and out, all the other “heroes” hanging their heads/body language, JY is jumping around in 5th gear. He has unlimited stamina the likes of which I’ve never seen. An elite defender not scared of anyone. I have no fear when he’s on the court, always the medicine when we need it. If Pike increases his minutes these next 4 heading into March it could be the spark we need that we had early in the season

I like Young because he is exciting to watch and one of the few Rutgers players able to get to and make baskets on dribble drives ,shoot off the dribble and make stationary 3 pointers.Yes, he plays out of control at time but he still remains Rutgers most consistent double digit scorer even without starting.

He’s 100 % effort and plays great D. In addition to our only offensive threat the last few games.

JY giveth and JY taketh away. But that dude has crazy speed and twitch to his game. He’s been the fastest player on the court in every game we’ve played this year. We’ve never had anyone like him that I can remember.

Invaluable piece that gets too much hate.
Guy plays hard and you take the good with the bad. He just needs to be reeled in better when going 120 mph here and there. Going to miss him hugely.

Agree 100% - probably my favorite player to watch and when he's in control, he's our best player both ways. Would love it if he came back, but won't count on it.

You must be watching a different Jacob. Other than an occasional steal in the passing lane, and the pick pocket last night , his on ball defense has been bad. He never and let me repeat never fights over screens and let’s the other team’s point guard drive down the lane forcing Myles to help and either pick up fouls or leave the other team’s center open for a flush. When he first played last year he was trying to get over screens but not once this year. Worse than that he never finds or tries to help on the now open center or whoever the point guard is screening with. If his defense was elite like the beginning of last year , he would harass the point guard so that the other team could not get into their sets , which he has done absolutely zero times this year. I am extremely disappointed in his defense or overall awareness of where the open man is when he gets screened or beat. However, offensively he can really help us, with his drives when he is under control , and his shooting , which I think should be even better , from 2 or 3 , should be even more of a weapon. When in the game with Geo and he is playing the 2 , he should look to do more of a 2 man game with Ron or Myles on the wing. He has also missed an incredible amount of layups for someone with his speed and his talent. We got really good Jacob on offense last night and could have used him hitting that 3 down 8 in the second half , but this so called great defense especially with ball screens was absent.

I hate to hear any of our players getting bashed constantly. Jacob has been ripped by many this season but he plays and gives 100 % all the time. No one is perfect. He tries so hard and sometimes probably tries too hard but I for one hope he and Geo and Myles all return next season. I would love to see that and hopefully have full attendance at all of our games again next season. That would be so welcoming to see and hear the RAC rocking once again.
