Played great tonight. He’s turning the corner.
Not sure why every bad shot Jacob Young gets the death penalty whereas Geo and Ron take horrible shots all game without a peep..
NBA bound Harper disappears again and posters going off on Young who played well. SMH.
You forgot Young was 6-7 from the line while Harper was 0-2 and Young also had 3 assists to 1 for Harper and played better defense. Yes, Young is out of control at times, but this was possibly his best game. Geo disappearing and only getting 8/5 from the center position (and them going 22-27 from the line) are the reasons we lost.
He played solid and had a really good second half...but wouldn’t say he played great.
Some terrible drives in the first half including 2 straight here he tried dribbling through 3-4 people and turned it over twice at a crucial part of the game.
Lot of other no shows or sub par games tonight and Young wasn’t the issue however (Baker, McConnell, Johnson and Harper).
Definitely a game to be happy about and hopefully he builds off it.

Biggest flaw on this team right now is the lack of a #1 option. We don’t have the one big player you can rely on in big spots and who is a really good shooter
He's too small to drive into 4 guys in the paint and try to uncork some hanging floater. He's a net negative on offense. Terrible.
Young shot 3 for 10 and got a few throws in garbage time. If that's a step forward, God help us.
Every time someone has a half-decent game everyone says it was a step forward. With all the steps forward we've had you'd expect us to be a little better by now.

He had 3 fouls in 18 minutes also. Commits a lot of dumb fouls with his "great" on ball defending. The more playing time he gets the worse we'll be. But unfortunately when Caleb does nothing and Baker can't throw the ball in the ocean we're forced to play him.
Yes, he is taking away shots from all the other great scorers we have. 12 pts in 19 min. You guys need to snap out of it.
he was 3-10...he hit his free throws, played awful at times, did do better the last 10 minutes, but i cant say he played great tonight.
He played great compared to everyone else on the team.
I wouldn’t say he was great but his defense was good and he was definitely more under control and actually had a nice stretch. I saw improvement.
Young is frustrating to watch with TOs first half but Winston was having a fit the way Young was guarding him. Think Winston would have had double the points if Young didn’t guard. Outside of Mathis no other on ball defender like Young on roster. If Young could limit his bad plays, play under control, look to pass more, better shot, he’d be starting. He also needs to shoot right handed layups when going to the hoop on right. I know that’s a lot.

Like many RU players before him, he would make wonderful moves to the hoop, only to have the ball roll out.
I hearya. More perception based on previous games than reality. Bottom line is he’s not the facilitator you’d want for a PG but he has defensive qualities that can keep him on the floor. Would like to see more of him and Paul on the floor if Geo goes MIA again.
This game was there for the taking if Geo and Ron each hit a couple more shots and a couple less defensive lapses by Shaq.
Hate bringing refs into the convo but my goodness some of the calls on Myles were just bad.

Young - frustrating BUT not as frustrating as Geo right now. Yes he’s out of control driving to the hoop, however, he plays great day, it’s his foul shots, and he is an afraid. Geo looks like he’s afraid to take a shot right now and that’s not a good thing.

Harper - he’s still young, he’s gonna be great, But the silly talk about him declaring after this season needs to end and I really hope he doesn’t think otherwise. He has a lot of room for improvement, despite his unbelievable natural skill, and I can’t wait to see it!
Johnson - shouldn’t start. Let them sit the first few minutes or even until the first time out and I think it will be better for him mentally and physically. Obviously it would also benefit the team ha ha
PM - Possibly the most unselfish player we have ever seen. That being said, maybe too unselfish, and maybe needs to take a shot from more than 2-feet once in a while to keep the defense honest.
Yeboah - fantastic pickup. I’m convinced that as the season moves along he’s going to win us a couple of games.

They weren’t great, but they didn’t cost us the game, let’s be honest. If we have a more experienced team, and we didn’t leave somewhere between 15 and 20 points on the floor tonight, we have a shot to win the game in the final seconds.
It getting to the crazy stage..... Baker and Harper could throw up brick after brick and then Young could rim out a 3 pointer and people will start yelling why did take that shot?
He is a high risk, high reward kind of player. Not as talented (by far) as Sanders but he probably have a year where you head scratching plays followed by big 3 point plays when he beats his man off the dribble to score a big basket.
Geo and Ron are not buying in enough on the defensive end. Caleb has confidence problems right now. Paul is a terrible defensive liability. Almost by default we need Montez and Jacob out there.
Right now, today, we are a bad basketball team. Jacob might have had his best game today, but you can't have the guy who has the ball in his hands the most lack vision. Watching him today was a flashback to Corey Sanders days. He made some plays, but you cant win playing like that.

Ron and Geo had quite a few defensive possessions that were head scratchers. If they are the team leaders they have to compete harder on a higher percentage of defensive possessions.
It is December 8th and not mid January......right now things are looking pretty bleak right now.
Young still plays out of control on some plays.

Young has potential and offers good D, FT shooting....now if he can start hitting his shot / help with ball movement while cutting down on
