Jojo is currently the Jay's #1 rated prospect, FWIW.
He's already the number 1 rated prospect in the Toronto Blue Jays system. He's better than Jacob, at this time. He's Konner Griffin goodTime will tell
I’m pretty sure it’s going to work out pretty well for both of them….but probably better for JoJo. He got a $6.2 million signing bonus from the Jays as the 8th overall pick.It will be an interesting case study in a couple of years to compare the path each one took and how it ended up playing out for them for sure.
It’s already “told”, though.Time will tell
I’m looking at it from long term development. Who will have a bigger impact in the major leagues. I am Not sure that’s settled. It’s already “told”, though.
As good as Jacob is, he’s not going to suddenly figure out how to play SS/3B at this point. That’s what truly separates JoJo. The offensive AND defensive ability.
Jacob is a raking corner outfielder. There are lots of those. He’ll still be at the top of the draft pecking order when his time comes, but he won’t be in exclusive company.
JoJo has a massive leg up there though. Barring injury, he is going to be in MLB by 2027 at the latest. And his position scarcity will keep him in the lineup every day. Jacob can’t even get to the minors until July of 2028, so it’s hard to see him catching up and surpassing JoJo any time soon. Development wise, only one of them is getting anything right now…..and it ain’t the dude playing college baseball.I’m looking at it from long term development. We will see if College was a better route for him. College didn’t hurt Will Clark or Pameiros development.JoJo has a massive leg up there though. Everybody says that Jacob was the better brother until their senior year when JoJo passed him.JoJo is better than Jacob
Palmeiro & Clark would have both made the majors at least a year earlier if they’d gone pro out if HS. There are good reasons to go to college. But getting to the majors sooner isn’t one of them.We will see if College was a better route for him. College didn’t hurt Will Clark or Pameiros development.
i Could see Jacob putting up bigger numbers.
getting to the majors sooner or getting a bigger signing bonus, neither one equates to necessarily better long term development or production in the major leagues.Palmeiro & Clark would have both made the majors at least a year earlier if they’d gone pro out if HS. 800K to a M a piece? You're smoking crackWell, TV, McPherson, Parker, and maybe even Milewski and Stone are going to all command a small fortune in NIL to stick around. Probably $800k - $1 million apiece for each of the first 3 guys on that list. Maybe 60-70% for the other two….and we’re also competing with the draft on Milewski.
So, might lose a guy or two further down the roster. It’s good to see we’ve already got a couple of quality bats from the portal.
Better route for which one? Jacob or JoJo? Neither one of them really had that hard of a decision, and both absolutely made the best decision for their specific situation. We will see if College was a better route for him.
Of course not, but arguably it didn’t help it that much either. Just significantly raised the floor for both, by validating their already known skills against a higher level of competition. It’s not really apples to apples though, because neither had a $6.2 million signing bonus to turn down, or a 3-year / ~$3 million deal to go to college.College didn’t hurt Will Clark or Pameiros development.
Maybe at some point his offensive ceiling becomes higher….that’s not out of the question. But at present time, his floor is lower. Which is not really an insult or anything….when he’s being compared against the 8th overall pick. He definitely looks like a 1st round lock at this point as a Jr., but it might be late first. Either way, he’s got a longer ways to go to start making that happen. He’s not going to see MLB until 2029 at the earliest, while JoJo may be there this season.i Could see Jacob putting up bigger numbers.
I think Konnor Griffin is a future Hall of Famer. But you may be right. He's already the number 1 rated prospect in the Toronto Blue Jays system. He's better than Jacob, at this time. He's Konner Griffin good
You’re definitely not getting better development in college. Not anywhere close. You’re a full time baseball player in the minors. Season is twice as long. And the organization has a team of coaches whose #1 priority is to develop players, not to win games.getting to the majors sooner or getting a bigger signing bonus, neither one equates to necessarily better long term development or production in the major leagues.
Jojo is jumping from single A ball , hitting .231 this season ? That would be quite the promotion.Better route for which one? Jacob or JoJo? Neither one of them really had that hard of a decision, and both absolutely made the best decision for their specific situation.

This is all speculation. MLB stars who played in college are all Stunted in their long term development ? That’s a made up category. Some players are uniquely Talented and Benefit from confidence and maturity.I think Konnor Griffin is a future Hall of Famer. But you may be right.

It is insane that he didn't win the Golden Spikes that sophomore year. Not sure about that. . . . .Raffy batted .406 as a freshman with 18 dingers and 78 RBI's. . . . .Raffy's worst season was actually his junior year in '85. . . . .He batted .300 with 20 dingers and 67 RBI's. . . .His sophomore year was the year he won the triple crown. . . . .Batted .415, 29 HR and 94 RBI. . . .Still the best offensive season ever in State history. . . ..
He looks like Renfroe did as a junior. Very athletic with a cannon in RF. Can absolutely tank it also.He does, he’s got size, athleticism. Great hitter. He is going to be a hoss.
I could be misremembering but I thought I read an article talking about college prospects made MLB at a higher rate than kids straight out of high school. Now first round high school guys probably make it at a high rate but it definitely drops when they are drafted in later rounds. This is all speculation. MLB stars who played in college are all Stunted in their long term development ? That’s a made up category. Some players are uniquely Talented and Benefit from confidence and maturity.
Dave Madagan won it that year hitting .525 scoring 67 times with 96 RBIs, which is unreal. That dude hit .429 for his career in college. It is insane that he didn't win the Golden Spikes that sophomore year.
We paid Ace 1.3m this year. I assume that will all go to Parker now. TV, Mcpherson, Milewksi aren't touching that though. Maybe TV gets close to 7 figures. I'd think a top line starting pitcher would get around that800K to a M a piece? You're smoking crack

LOL no we didn't, good Lord
Yeah I think I misinterpreted your point some. Long term I agree. Only long term downside to going to college is your career will probably be a year or 2 shorter. This is all speculation. FartHe was making at least 1MM, maybe more. I know someone who had some interactions with his "handler", which is actually former MSU baseball player Cody Abraham.
