I asked a Vol fan why they didnt offer Hannah and he said Jackson was too slow and could never play in Pruitt's system because of the lack of footspeed. Any truth to this or am I missing something?

OR your friend could be full of sh##. Hannah committed to NU early. Maybe Tennessee thought they could slow play him. Once he committed to Frost, Tennessee had no shot with the kid. Hannah is a stud. One of the guys I listen to on evaluating recruits says that Hannah very well could be the best player in the class and he expects him to play as a true freshman.Hannah was a big Vol fan growing up and wanted an offer but didnt get one. However Bama, LSU and Florida all offered so obviously he can play. Hopefully their loss is Nebraska's gain.....
Jackson, Wandale Robinson, and Bryce Benhart in no particular order are my top 3 favorite commits of this class! The Vols missed the boat big time IMO!Hannah was a big Vol fan growing up and wanted an offer but didnt get one. However Bama, LSU and Florida all offered so obviously he can play. Maybe nance told both Oklahoma and state that he wasn't interested in either of themOklahoma and Oklahoma State didn’t offer Jamie Nance any scholarship’s either...
He was interested in OU, but they signed three 5-star WR’s. He has no interest in OSU.Nance said he was interested in Okie St, but never got the offer.

I believe Nance signed with Nebraska so it doesn’t matter now!!! Winking
I'm not sure about the OSU deal but OU definitely felt like they recruited over the top of Nance. Our gain. He fits perfectly what Frost wants to do with his offense. OU has been recruiting near a level of Alabama and not getting a committable offer from OU isn't that much of a black mark on your resume.I read he preferred Oklahoma St over OU but he said he never received an offer from either one...

Which true freshman besides the two Robinsons and Gates will play over 4 games next season? I am trying to figure out the numbers for the next few recruiting classes.

One thing I heard about Hannah was that his stock went up after teams saw his senior tape. He also went from playing outside to inside. That changes some things too. Nebraska got themselves a good one.It does seem strange if the Vols didn’t offer him. Wonder what the deal was?
Watch his tape, you're going to notice how polished he is for a HS player. His best attribute is between his ears and I mean that as a compliment. He's not some freak athlete you hope can learn to play with half a brain, this kid is football smart and he's tough. I'll bet on that at ILB all day.
Same things we said about JoJo and guess who started to flash last year after he got that knee healthy?
He has some big boy tools in his arsenal. Plays with good pad level to drive through blockers, strikes hard on his tackles, wraps up.
That play at 1:45, that's not just him running by people and making a tackle alone, he eats up a lead block to stuff the run and then makes the tackle with the blocker still on him.
Really plays under control, keeps his shoulders square and is disciplined with his feet so he isn't overrunning plays. Kid just stays home, he's right there squared up in his lane doing his job when the play comes back to him. I think brains and effort make him a year one contributor for sure on special teams, and he probably pushes into the 2-deep at ILB by year end.
4.7 for a kid that size is actually damned fast especially if it's electronic. Dave Liegl ran punts back and started at wingback for Osborne in the late 70s and I don't think he ran any faster than that in high school and he only weighed about 165 in high school. Hannah looks to have very good football speed.Over a distance of 40 meters, the difference between a "4.4" guy and a "4.7" guy is about eight feet. How many plays go for over 40 yards?
Quickness matters, but what matters more in football is understanding the game, being able to read the offense, being able to recognize what is happening quickly, reacting the right way, going in the right direction the first time, doing things confidently, and having good fundamentals. I'll take a 4.7 guy who goes the right way the first time, and tackles well in space, over a 4.4 guy who is always out of position and whiffs on every tackle.
For the record, in his video he's chasing running backs down from behind, and even carrying the ball himself. Seems doubtful that he could be categorized as lacking speed.
