I always love ad hominems. Let's me know I proved my point.
Your 25+ known accounts prove to everybody on the board you are one odd dumbass - quick, make another one and agree with yourself...

EDIT: You're just pissed because no matter how many accounts you rack up, you're still owned by virtually everyone on the board...it takes someone special to not give up... [roll]

Owned? How so?

You're melting down with ad hominems and memes. Doesn't look like I am the one who got "owned".

Also, who takes this place so seriously that they actually feel they "owned" someone on an anonymous message board about college basketball? 🤣

Not taking that bet, since I think it's a 50/50 chance.

And his last 2 years Turner attempted 100 3's, about 1.5/gm, also making 33%.

But agree completely that making 1/3 WIDE OPEN is very different than making 1/3 being guarded even a little.

What is it about UK PGs not being able to shoot: Turner, Saul, Hawkins, Rondo, Wall, Teague, Harrow, Fox, Briscoe, Hagans, Askew, Wheeler

Ones that could: Bradley, Knight, Andrew, Ulis, SGA, Tyty, Wallace
What gets me with Wheeler is WHY didn't he concentrate on making 3's from the St Peter's game until the season started??? He should have shot 1,000 3's a day knowing that teams were going to allow him to shoot whenever he wanted.

Why he hasn't taken that personal and had the drive to improve his shooting is another reason why he shouldn't start. Heck Rajon Rondo was a horrible 3 pt shooter, but he worked on it until he could make one if the opposing team slacked off of him in the NBA.

You sure seem upset for someone who supposedly owned someone else...

Do you always get this upset after an alleged anonymous message board "owning"?

I was thinking this was a possibility, and posted it days ago, noting even with Wheeler in there, Wallace sometimes plays as the lead guard. And we know Wheeler isn't in there to be the SG (lol lol lol). So I think Wallace just has to earn that trust (of Cal's) to run it himself for long stretches.

Now that said. If CJ doesn't start shooting better, I'm all for giving Theiro and Livingston more run at the 3. Theiro can defend and Livingston can rebound. But willing to go with who is playing the best in that game at the 3, unless one of them shows it is consistently him. Give them all three 5-8 min in the 1H, and then go with the best in the 2H.
Livingston needs to be the main baccup at the 4 to me.

i personally think Thiero should be the bacc up 3 getting 10 mins a game to a lineup of Reeves, CJ, & Wallace. First subbing for CJ. You turn into a BETTER defensive lineup with him and he's shown enough to be able to hit the catch & shoot 3. Reminds me of a jumbo SGA with his wiggle going downhill.

I bet he probably has. Problem is his form sucks!!! So if he just practiced more attempts with that same form, I think he has probably hit the ceiling with it. He needed to scrap that push-shot, even if it meant a temporary worse %, I'm sure it would have been better by October.

Not at all. But when they leave him open, he needs to continue to shoot them. I'll take 33% of his makes.

Is that not capable of improving? Does it not benefit us if they start falling? Do shooters not go into slumps.

Who is attacking him? Do you consider honesty an attack?

It's kind of hard not to look at them. They are in every thread ge posts in.

He obviously doesn't. Why would you not want your 4 man shooting 3's? Particularly one that has shown he can make them at a good clip. He was great in the bahamas and pretty good in exhibitions from 3.

What happens to the interior when the 4 man is able to play on the perimeter? Who does that benefit the most down there? 😉
You’re entitled to your opinion and you seem pretty confident in it. We’re just going to have to disagree on this. The season is still very young but it ‘appears’ the competition in the Bahamas was middle school talent. The exhibitions weren’t much better. I’ll never argue that we don’t have athletes and I think we were just so much better than the other teams in the early games that we could sleepwalk and win. I say if we need a big 3 when we get to the big stage those guys won’t make em. And remember, you’re looking at six wins in a row at that point. Toppin and Wheeler won’t have six good shooting nights in a row (especially from deep) at any point in their life, much less the NCAA tournament. Their asses would be so tight you couldn’t pull a needle out of them with a tractor. Hope I’m wrong but it looks like Triple C is still a piss poor coach and we will under achieve AGAIN.

For us to lose more games, miss out on a 1 seed, and playing a regional in Louisville. Bc these 5 star kids have hearts, so they have to play bc this is a players 1st program. Fans last.

We aren't getting a 1 seed even if Wallace plays 35 minutes a game and Wheeler leaves to join the circus.

This team isn't that good.

Billy R Sports had Pilgrim on The Leach Report this morning and he asked him point blank about the Wallace and Wheeler PG situation...

Pilgrim told BRS that a little birdie has told him that as the season progresses and Cal sees Wallace become more comfortable that he is going to take over the PG spot from Wheeler. He was told that Cal is very intrigued by Wallace with CJ and Reeves. Essentially buying some time right now and tinkering with lineups.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share. Don't shoot the messenger
do not believe it at all
ccc would not replace wheeler last year & he won't this year
isn't that why he did not go after any scoring point guards from the portal because wheeler threatened to leave

Thiero baccup 3, 10 mins a game?
I’d rather see Livingston get those minutes to get some experience. You start slicing too many pie pieces and no one gets very much pie. Livingston’s advantage over Thiero is that he can play the 3 or a small ball/stretch 4. I want a rotation like this:

PG Wallace/Wheeler
SG Fredrick/Wallace
SF Reeves/Livingston
PF Toppin/Livingston
C Tshiebwe/Onyenso

Besides, Cal isn’t going to play Thiero. If he goes 9 deep that just means more Ware or Collins. In fact, you might as well replace Onyenso with Ware, even though statistically Onyenso is more productive and has a much higher ceiling.

Play Ware, Collins, and Thiero sparingly.

That’s what the stats so far are saying.
If wheeler plays more than 7-10 min a game then cal really isn’t changing anything. I mean they are already splitting duty. To take over the spot would mean 35 minutes a game. When you have a golden horse you don’t ride it sparingly. This is the ultimate problem with wheeler. He can’t even give us meaningful bench minutes if cal commits with Wallace because he can only play one spot. At least Thiero could play 2 spots on the floor maybe 3 if necessary. Get this guy a ton of minutes in the cupcake specials so he’s serviceable that’s what I say. Play wheeler if there’s foul trouble and mop up in conference that’s it! It will be too easy for cal to revert back to wheeler if he’s playing 15-20 min a game.

He shoots the ball from his chest, like a girl, there's no way he's ever going to be a consistent shooter with a shot like that.

I disagree, we have the personnel on this team that could square up and beat anybody in the country. This team can be elite defensively, it can be elite on the glass and it has all the pieces you need to score in bunches.

The players aren't the problem. Cal's one size fits all style, is the problem. Not only that, but he's lost his mind with these lineups.

I understand what he's trying to do, he's trying to get Collins, Ware, Wheeler and Toppin going, but my God man, you can't play Ware, Collins and Wheeler at the same time. You can't even play 2 of them together, but he keeps doing it.

Yeah, I agree with this. I really hoped Wheeler would come back with a different and much improved form. Problem is his dad was his coach growing up and is probably the one who taught him that terrible form in the first place. My guess is dad told Sahvir "there's nothing wrong with your form, you just need to practice more shots".

I really would love to see Livingston split the four spot with Toppin, as opposed to playing the three. Have the rotation of Wallace, Fredrick, Reeves, and Wheeler rotating as the three guard line-up. As you said, wouldn't mind seeing Thiero in there for spurts as well! I think the rotation is close to being figured out, and the Michigan game will be telling for sure.
This is the way it should be but stubborn *** is going to flip off the fans and play the worst offensive players he can

I hear ya. I'm not a Cal-boi as some call them around here, but I've typically been on the more supportive side for him. But the lineups that have been put out there this season have been very frustrating. Think he's tinkered longer than he should have because of the early season injuries and absences. I know we're all hoping to see the best players playing and the best shooters shooting this Sunday. Time to get this thing rolling.
