Seriously? America’s pastime? College baseball is a terrific sport. What are you even talking about? Don’t you live near Wake Forest? You might want to check out their baseball program. Maybe go to a game or two.
I have watched he Deacs, because they are a competitive program that is funded to be successful. They draw decent crowds for their games. The comparison with NU is beyond ridiculous. There is zero interest in Wildcat baseball. College baseball is a southern sport. The SEC owns it.

To me it is clear: either fund a sport to be competitive, or drop it. Wrestling and baseball need more money or they should be dropped.

And NFL football is America's pastime.

It’s a Catch-22 situation. NU softball draws fairly well all things considered. If the administration funded baseball properly they could be a respectable program. They were on their way last season. Interest would be there….far more than wrestling or swimming.

I wholeheartedly agree that you either fully fund the program (any program) or drop it.

How the heck can anyone justify wrestling?
I don’t know CSC. Keep in mind that NU produced multiple national champions in Wrestling in the not to distant past. It’s really a sport that we should excel in. The B1G is to Wrestling what the SEC is to baseball. Dominates. The value of the NU degree should mean much more in non-revenue sports where there is no potential professional outlet. You should be able to sell the degree here and that argument falls flat in men’s basketball and football. As far as NIL, I am betting you could fund the entire team for what it costs for one high level football player.

We would have no idea what that number is
