He was a better QB than Wright and Lausch.Sully was not a B1G QB. Should have played MAC or next tier down .

Then why did Jack beat him out?He was a better QB than Wright and Lausch.
Yes, his talent was so obvious 3 OC’s kept him in a reserve role.Because Lujan.
NU is last in the B1G. All the hype about Greenspan was about Alan not Ben. Train wreck of a program.
Baseball needs to go. Bring in Lacrosse.
I went to a game. I was impressed how engaged and enthusiastic the team was. However, they clearly are undermanned. Not Greenspan’s fault. His best players left for greener NIL pastures. NU is not committed to baseball…underfunding the available number of scholarship and inadequate NIL. You can have the best manager in the country, but if he doesn’t have the players it won’t matter. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Greenspan move on to a more committed program. He’s a quality coach…NU made a solid hire and is doing him a great disservice.
Then drop baseball if they aren't committed to being competitive. I don't care about the Miller family stadium. Tear it down and put in more parking for football. Be brave like Wisconsin and drop the program. Not Greenspan’s fault. His best players left for greener NIL pastures. Thinking like this would have had the football and basketball team jettisoned in the 70’s-80’s.Then drop baseball if they aren't committed to being competitive. I’m surprised we didn’t follow u chicago. But it has been so much fun since 95’. I’m glad we didn’t!!Thinking like this would have had the football and basketball team jettisoned in the 70’s-80’s.

it’s a West and Southern states game. The old rust belt will never be nationally relevant. Playing in 70 or 30 degree temperatures, not a hard choice for prospective players eyeing a professional opportunity.
I don't think that they had Lausch ahead of Sully but they did put Wright ahead of himThey placed Lausch above Sullivan which basically forced him out, then they benched Wright after the Duke game and he never got another shot. You will never convince me that Lausch was a better option than Sullivan that season, but Lujan thought Gronowski was going to follow him to NU, so Sullivan was the one the coaches chose free up a roster spot. The only explanation for this is that the coaches decided Lausch had more potential. They played some stupid games with the QB roster that season.
Not the way I remember it,I don't think that they had Lausch ahead of Sully but they did put Wright ahead of him

He got starts at Iowa. Why isn't Lausch still getting starting QB opportunities anymore?Yes, his talent was so obvious 3 OC’s kept him in a reserve role.
Ask our great @CoralSpringsCat about that, who had the inside scoop and spread the word at his whisper network cool kids club about how Lausch had jumped Sullivan in the depth chart.I don't think that they had Lausch ahead of Sully but they did put Wright ahead of him

I believe he went NotthwestYes, you are correct. Lausch jumped Sullivan in the Spring. Sully didn’t want to compete and took his ball and headed south.
I think he's talking about Tulane for his final season.I believe he went Notthwest
Talk about twisting details to fit a narrative. I am not dealing in “what if’s”. Facts are Sully was not ever a starter at Iowa or Tulane until the number 1 QB got hurt. Tulane went out and gleefully welcoming an accused Rapist to their roster so they could upgrade the position. Yes, Ratzlaff wasn’t convicted of that and “maybe” all he did was think he was having consensual sex, but what school needs that publicity when they had a viable option waiting in the wings. Sully was always viewed as a second string QB at Iowa. Sully threw less passes at Iowa and Tulane combined than he did at either year he saw the field at NU. That’s a fact. He couldn’t throw at the level needed to be a quality starting B1G QB. That’s an opinion. He got starts at Iowa. Why isn't Lausch still getting starting QB opportunities anymore?
At Tulane (which is above MAC level and was in the playoff, by the way), Sullivan was set to be the starter but Retzlaff fell in their lap from BYU at the last minute, and, while they were still competing for the starting role, Sullivan suffered an injury that decided the issue. If there's any one thing I really think hampered Sullivan, it was the injury bug.
Anyway, we've both expressed our opinion, and you're wrong, but that's okay. Lots of people really hold a resentment against him because he didn't want to stick around for Lujan's mind games.
I never disputed that, I just think it's further evidence that Lujan was a fool. But I don't know why I'm suddenly supposed to agree with him in this case. That doesn’t change the situation of bailing in Spring ball after being passed in the pecking order by Lausch.
