Would he be around 20ish now? Regardless, very sad. His mother has suffered greatly through this losing her husband and child. Prayers…🙏🏻

Cancer certainly sucks. My wife has devoted much of her later working life to finding cures through research. So much so that she has named her dogs Hope and Faith.

Thoughts and prayers with that family. Very difficult last 20 years.

Rest in Peace young Jack. This just seems so unfair. The wife works in the oncology unit at the Children’s Hospital here in STL. Those kids are fighters and my heroes. Jack is my hero.

I’ve done the cancer shuffle and so far looking good five years after treatments. But I am an old fart and can’t live forever so I don’t worry much about it.

But losing a young husband and young child is a different deal. Unimaginable.

Childhood cancer has to be the worst. They kids are cheated out of so much and they rarely get to know what feeling good is. Watching those st Jude commercials etc make me so thankful that my kids and grandkids are healthy....knock on wood

Jack and that family really touched Nebraska and its people and those outside of the Husker family and fandom. I hope to God something positive comes from the research they helped raise dollars for and their losses can have some of the sting fade some day. Prayers to his family.

This is a crushing day for Husker Nation. Keeping Jack and his father in my prayers. Please pray for Jack’s mother and siblings.

I have his football card sitting amongst my Nebraska memorabilia.

Maybe Nebraska fans can consider making a donation to Team Jack in his honor. I will make a donation tonight.

Losing a child is the absolute worst soul-crushing thing that could happen. When I was around 30 a good friend lost is 12 y/o son to a car-bike accident. I tried talking to my friend for hours and hours afterwards but he just wasn't there. Became an alcoholic, addict, divorced and disappeared. Some people can tap a well of strength and move on with life. He just couldn't. I'll say a novena for his mom because Jack doesn't need my prayers. He's finally pain and worry free.

Might I suggest for those of us that have Husker flags that we fly on game days…let’s fly them tomorrow for Jack and his family.

Flying a Husker flag in honor of Jack is a great idea.

Watching that video of Jack's TD was more than I could handle emotionally today.

Sorry for doubting you! Rip jack
I just heard that he passed. I searched for anything else to provide info and couldn't find anything. So, I posted it anyways. I knew how this board felt about Jack. I'm sad with the news along with everyone else.

My late wife had aggressive ovarian cancer at 14. She wasn't supposed to make it. Through chemo and surgery, she went into remission. Lots of health issues throughout her life and then it came back as a mutation when she was 40. It is what it is.
