The kid is a beast, but took great pleasure in disrespecting his home state university, not to mention the RU players he grew up with. If he wants to dance around and throw head fakes on a rolling punt, do it against a team that poses a challenge like OSU. I bet he wouldn't dare because they would eat him alive. I grew up playing several sports and it was the lopsided victories where players usually kept their mouths shut and heads down.

I can't wait until he tries that nonsense in the NFL. They will knock him the F out and make him humble.

OBJ, TO, Ocho Cinco, JP ... D*cks are gonna be D*cks and they will always have fans that just don't care as long as they are producing. Once things go bad they tend to self destruct. JP, like so many others will have more detractors than fans if he continues this way.

The kid is a college player, like every other player on the field. He grew up with few socioeconomic advantages. He outplayed his competitors on the field. He didn't excessively gloat. He's probably the best D player in the country. He didn't consider RU, even though he's from NJ. Looks like he's going to be a top 5 pick in the draft so things are working out great for him. Lets get over it.

If we had him you would have anointed him the messiah. And yes my Italian high school coach used to call black players on other teams jubronis or jumbronis.

During the National Anthem he was doing bending exercises next to his team. Nowadays that's OK.

Your coach may have used it in a racial way, but it's Italian slang for dumbass, usually low-class dumbass. It is not inherently a racially charged term.

"Jabroni" or "Jabrone" is derived from the Italian word "giambone" (ham) which is pronounced "jahm-boh-nay." Italian-Americans often initially used it as an unflattering reference to new immigrants from Italy. It then was adopted into the urban working-class language and "evolved" to mean someone who is a (mostly) likeable dope or ***. Professional wrestling has also adopted and adapted the word to mean a wrestler who performs to lose.

I disagree. It is clearly an ethnic slur and it can certainly can be used as a racial insult. Most recently I overheard one of our club members use this word with a little profanity sprinkled in. I approached him and explained that the word could be offensive to some of our club members. On a Saturday afternoon I overheard him use the word twice in front of a host of club members which included women and teenagers. I literally stopped the entire event, escorted him into the club house and politely dressed him down in front of club members which included his wife. Then, I requested that he go home to think about what we discussed. Two weeks later we prorated his membership fees and refunded his money.

The one thing he did that pissed me off was when we punted there was a flag on us and before the official made the call he looked like a Rockette for 30 yards (to indicate re-kick) as he went down to the official and got all up in the officials face.

doing a job, jobber, jobbing out. Not sure how that translates to an ethnic slur. Glad we have Thought Police in this world.

my guess is next year he will be on the Jets or Giants where the announcers in the NFL will keep mentioning he is a NJ product with the local team.

Just a kid that loves to play the game having fun. You guys need to get over the home state thing. No D1 team keeps all their home state talent.

I agree. This is really weak. Represent NJ in NJ. Hope he gets drafted by the Lions and lives in Michigan for the rest of his life.
