FB Recruiting Jaaron Hayek decommits

This is more it. Both brothers buried on a depth chart where some younger playmakers are starting to emerge.

Army's kicking butt with those players. Army's recruiting ranking (TOS) for last 5 years =

2014 = 124th
2015 = 125th
2016 = 119th
2017= 118th
2018 = 117th


I used to make little of those recruits from Colgate, Bucknell, UMass etc - but its those recruits that Monken has molded into a team that would steamroll RU. Gary Patterson, Monken etc they know how to spot raw material to build into football players. They don't need all the 4 and 5 stars, Schiano was a little like that in that he built a top secondary with a bunch of nobodies who all lived with 30 minutes of Tappan Zee Bridge.

He also found 2 stars and lower on the D Line and LB who ended up being players. Eric Foster, Devraun, Ryan Neill, Barnaby, Renkhardt, Meekins, Peterson, and on and on.

Jones, Lewis, Melton. They are true sophs and/or freshmen. It's only been their 4th game for two of them.

Look I get Ash has underperformed so far, but if you look at the two deep that is evolving, it is his folks, they seem to show potential, and yes, they are young.

You must be looking at a different two deep on the OL and DL than the rest of us are.

That is a fair point and a point of major concern.
At the rate things are playing out, Cole may get replaced this season. OL seems to be in better shape than the DL, but that is nothing to jump for joy over.
If asked to name two of the biggest issues Ash has: OL/DL recruiting and burning timeouts in games.

A lot of teams have two deep OL and DL that are juniors and seniors. We don't have many of those and the ones we do have underperformed. The OL recruiting has picked up but DL recruiting continues to struggle, as it has since Anderson.

I think it's a positive. Hopefully, the other 2 leave & open up some scholarships.

And they are smart enough to play a style that fits their personnel, not a pro-style offense with mediocre redruits. That’s suicide and stupidity.

I expect some decommits but did not expect Hayek because of his brothers being on the team. But maybe the fact that those two aren't seeing the field is exactly what gave him a change of heart. I think Tyler will be gone by the end of this season as well as he apparently is not close to sniffing the field. Not sure if Hunter would stay in that case as he actually gets some playing time..

I would love to see Ash fired before the next game. Let's see what the OC can do as interim HC. As for Hobbs, I would give him one more chance at the right hire. He nailed it on the b-ball HC.

Been reading that it’s 10 if fired tomorrow and 8 if after the season... in that case it’s the day after 1-11

The Oline is going to get Art Sit killed..he gets knocked down almost every play and is forced to throw the ball early,alot. Blazak and brown are not B10 lineman recruiters talent wise. maybe they should start recruiting Estonia

Wrs have a long way to go. Still cant catch a deep ball ,no location and high point. Other then the Tight End postion,there is no size at WR currently either.

People shouldn't extrapolate on this, not yet anyway.

Hayek family probably is not too happy over their kids lack of playing time. Hunter has been passed on the depth chart, and Tyler is buried on it. Like one board poster said recently, they likely just aren't FBS material.

The stark reality is that Hunter would not be on the 2 deep on any other program in the B1G. Shows how bad our recruiting has gotten under Ash.

Not a surprise. It should be clear,that if you follow certain parents of recruits and current players,they are not happy with Ash and company.
Close losses are not cutting it in year #3.
You have to show wins to recruit and sell the "progress".

i agree.... he as a recruit has inside knowledge of the team, chemistry and if ASH has lost the players, more than any other recruit because of his brother's knowledge.... I applaud ASH cheering the team on at the end of the INDIANA game, but it seemed more out of desperation for scoring to preserve his job, and not because he is a great motivator... sorry... I am a broken record, and say he is not HC material, Do what you can to get Schiano back. Shame that the Hayek's not producing as they are talented and hope they rebound strong and get lot of chances

It's been a thing since people come after these kids on social media (and on this very message board) for changing their minds on the biggest decision of their lives.

Its not just the OL though.. its the QB and whole offense... we need to hit more passes that punish a stunting blitzing team. QB and receivers making plays can protect the QB too by slowing down the pass rush.. as well as some play calls suited to punishing a pass rush.
