There's going to be an E:60 "Is Anyone Listening? CRISIS AT MICHIGAN STATE" airing Sunday night on ESPN.

They showed part of it ("you could hear them screaming") and I don't see how Izzo survives this.

Since you know all the facts, how about you tell me the guilty ones

I never made a single comment about knowing the facts or about who’s guilty and who’s innocent. Nor did I make any statements that would even remotely imply that.

You made a comment that you had hard time believing all of these women. I simply asked a question to understand which ones you don’t believe.

It was a very simple question and not one that should’ve provoked defensiveness.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Aly Raisman's mom laid into Izzo last week because she claimed he knew and did nothing.
Pretty sure that's not what set her off - she was pizzed because Izzo was asked about Nasser and gave an off the cuff, tone-deaf response, mentioned something about "hoping they got the right guy" and that he supported the MSU President unequivocally. Lesson there is when the ground is moving this fast it's best to avoid a microphone.....

as stated in another thread Tom Izzo not only covered things up.... the punishment charity work lead Payne to that little girl that eventually passed away. You know... the whole "feel good" stories ESPN and the NCAA promoted Payne with? They let this guy near a little girl....

disgusting

Coach Izzo said this right after the MSU win vs. Wisconsin tonight that he wasn't retiring anytime soon.

This hurts my soul to read this....they promoted the heck out of that cancer story and it was punishment for an alleged rape???

I'm predicting he's going to be FIRED. Sooner rather than later.

Media will not let this go until he's gone.

He's only waiting until the avalanche is upon him. Which is close. I say he doesn't survive.
Regardless of fact or conjecture, the timing swallows him.

A-Makes ridiculous statement
B-Someone questions it
A-Demands to be proven wrong

Some people don't understand burden of proof. He's living up to his username.

Prison is to good for people like Larry Nassar. Anyone who covered for him should have to face a judge and jury. If convicted by a court of law send them to prison. I don't consider loss of employment ample punishment. The justice system is far from perfect, innocent people are convicted and the guilty walk free. It's still the best we have.

Or!

He's a nut job and it's really easy to not rape people and not be accused of it.

My family owns car businesses. My grandfather was involved in politics as well until he retired from office.

Word to the wise, I was taught this from early on.

You don't find yourself alone with a woman behind a closed door under any circumstances. Women lie all the time, just like men when situations benefit. People are nuts, you learn this quickly business.

It is not always easy to not be accused of something. It happens every single day, it's just that when women lie about rape, you never hear a word about it.

This is why I never speak to women at work anymore except about work. If I am walking by them I move as far to the other side to make sure we don't even bump into each other.
Sad state and time we live in when we have to behave like that, good gracious, people are too sensitive these days

Women should be respected, in the workplace. The problem is, this thing has gotten way out of control. A man has to worry about even talking to a woman, at work, because if she wants to climb the ladder, all she has to do is make an accusation. Men are pretty much defenseless. Hard to claim you didn't do something, even when you didn't. Today, you are automatically guilty.

That's why there will be eventually be backlash for women everywhere.
They will be crowded out of the workplace or work only with women to prevent this...

Aziz Ansari is the first to my mind.

He's such a womanizer, he caught a Beej from a 22-y/o white girl, inhis apartment, at the simple suggestive powers of a hand gesture. Of course, this was portrayed as sexual assault after the fact and you haven't heard anything about it since... b/c it was weak as water and only serves to undermine real sexual misconduct cases and victims.

I agree unless facts clearly show he followed thru on the University policy on reporting and cooperating in proper investigation involving the bball player incidents!

But even then a new university President and AD may ask him to resign or fire him and the football coach! This will not "go away" for either of them until all facts come out and until then the Trustees and new President and AD decide their fate!!

Be sort of a douche move to retire on the middle of the season.... unless there is something huge that we haven’t heard yet

I don't think it would be because he wants to retire. It's not like he's just up and decided to retire midway through a season. It would be because he is forced to do so or be fired shortly.

Yep. Idk why people don't get this. It's common practice in the military as well; if you have to have a closed door meeting/counseling with a female then you bring in a senior ranking female observer as a witness.

If Izzo knew about Payne being accused of rape AND because of the accusation demanded he form a relationship with a very sick little girl and promote it as some great thing then he deserves whatever comes his way. I’m not saying he did this, but **** that is effed up if he did.

On another note, I find this whole situation sad. I’m in the camp that for every one that is brave enough to come forward, there are probably 5 others who are too scared, ashamed, don’t remember, etc.

That's a non-negotiable for me. I do not allow my teams to coach, counsel, or even have conversation behind a closed door. I tell them up front and well in advance; if you go behind a closed door for any reason, whatever the team member claims happened behind that door is what I will base my decisions on, regardless of what may or may not have actually happened. It's unfortunate, but it has to be done that way. That goes for male or female team members.

Tone deaf.

To take a thread about children being molested by their doctor and college students raped by athletes, both of which were covered up for years, and use it as a political statement for why you can't have dinner in a restaurant without your wife there?

Yeah. It is. Big time.

If your first thought to share with the world about rape after all the victims we've heard from in the last few months that have been silenced for years is "boy it sure is easy for women to falsely accuse men of rape!" then please don't ever be around another woman for the rest of your life.
