You want Frost fired? Ok, then what? In my opinion you either need a "Nebraska guy" or someone that can have instant success and want to stay long term. The problem then is if you bring in an outsider, that has success, they will probably move on to something better. The program needs someone that truly understands Nebraska football and even more so, understands Nebraska! It sucks and a part of me dies every year since the end of the Solich era, but I just don't think starting over is the answer. You have to have a guy that wants to win just as much as the fans do and won't jump ship due to failure or success. But, yeah, it's painful right now.

I was going to post early in the game "we're an emotionally soft and weak football team". When things go south we don't respond well. THAT includes our offensive coaching. We panicked and started chucking the ball all over the field. Somebody needs to remind Scott that this isn't Oregon or UCF.

I think it’s clear Frost can’t win as a HC calling the plays. He lets the pressure of the HC position effect his play calling. We also can’t throw the ball downfield, which hurts. But there are QB’s and play callers out there, that could have immediately made us better and we haven’t chosen to go after either.

Ima take up drinking (more) on Saturdays. This just flat out sucks.

Someone please go get Monken and let's run the option, win or lose. At least it will look familiar, and I'll have my drink to reminisce.

What does "a Nebraska guy" even mean anymore? Just get a good COACH AND LEADER that understands and has recruiting relationships developed. Get a HUNGRY younger guy and don't dump a truckload of money into his bank account to start. Biggest mistake we made was paying Frosty boy $5M a year. Let someone else take that risk because if it backfires -- which it is looking like it has thus far -- you are in an absolutely brutal spot.

With every coach since Osborne, there has been a game where I decided I'd seen enough and they aren't going to get it done. I think I reached that point with Scott Frost today. He has had multiple chances to show that he can sustain some success, and he blows it every time. He'll last another year or two, but the writing is on the wall-this program is not getting any better with him at the helm. I'm just glad we can pull off a win now and then to break up the monotony, but that's all we are doing now.
Same. Already looking around at potential coaches in my mind.

Monken and Nieamutulolo* are guys who exist among a handful of other assistants who keep a very particular identity and scheme moving forward. If we finally got someone like one of them, MAYBE we could not only have some success, but again RETAIN some success after they've left.

That was probably Illinois for me. Getting blown out 2 years in a row to a team like Illinois proves this staff isn't going to get it done, and I'm doubting if Frost ever will.

How the hell do we get out of this spot? It’s going to be a huge challenge for any coach right now. A new coach will have their hands full. Besides all the usual coaching turnover stuff, which is rough, we have to become so much better than teams like Minnesota and Iowa to actually beat them. We have to be able to over come so much ********. It is going to make this very difficult. How do you build up a program when your conference wants you to fail and will go to great lengths to make it happen? Maybe someone can pull this off. But man it’s going to be tough. We will have to find someone that can field a team so much more talented and disciplined than it’s opponents, just to win. We sold our soul for that B1G $$ and now we are completely screwed.
I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but get a good coach or the right coach is the first step.

I don't really believe the next coach will be better. That hasn't worked the last 4 times we tried it.

But... if things don't get better here, or in Cincinnati, Zac Taylor might be available and needing redemption, and might consider taking this job.

You evaluate what went wrong and what seems to be going right and then you make changes to get better. We better start with the play calling and QB play. AM went from playing great the last 2 games to not being able to throw it in the ocean.
AM is the same exact qb he's always been. Decent legs but inconsistent in the short game, abysmal on downfield passes, and a below average decision maker.

Jesus it’s not a freaking conspiracy theory it is reality. This is what we are up against. If this is going to continue, it will make the hill we are tying to climb that much more difficult. It will take heck of a coach and recruiter to constantly overcome this.

No.

Can Frost ASAP and hope Bret Bielema is still available. He has won in the Big Ten and will put an emphasis on the trenches.

And be the Georgia Tech of the B1G? I don't think that is what we should aspire to.

Couldn't agree more with OP. I have been optimistic all along. I'd hoped to see immediate improvement in year one, but accepted that Frost would need time to get the right guys for his scheme. In year two it was discouraging to continue to see sloppy play and non stop mental mistakes, but I figured we might get there once some of the younger guys were on the field. I made excuses for this year because it's such an odd year, but then came the Illinois game, arguably the worst loss in my lifetime, and that's saying something. I allowed myself to believe that maybe we'd turned a corner after the Iowa game. Martinez was playing better, defense was playing better. But to lose this game at home against a depleted Minnesota squad is just inexcusable. If you can't get your team up and ready to play a game with a bowl game on the line, well then you are just a crap coach, plain and simple. I'm afraid we're stuck with Frost, but I too have seen enough. He's not getting it, he's not improving, we are worse than when he took over the job.

Rutgers now has a better record than we do. Picked to finish last in the Big East.

If that mess of a team can be improved that much in one year we should have had progress in year 3

Today was my day too. Frankly when we won the toss and decided to take the ball going into the wind.

This program,is dead and buried. Riley started with a shovel and frost came along and said hold my beer and used an excavator.

Zero momentum for anything. Just can only hope when frost gets canned in a year or 2 hopefully an up an comer can get us to 7 wins and maybe an occasional 8 win season. That is our ceiling now. Hope I'm proven wrong

Ceiling shouldn’t be that low, because we still recruit at a better level than that. But man are we in a bad spot.

I’ve only caught glimpses of other games this year. Every time within 2 minutes I clearly see how much better all of them are than us.

Coaching.
Coaching.

Coaching.

Most coaches out there win more games with our same roster.

I notice the same thing. Just about every game you watch, the teams play harder and are better coached than we are.

I feel a little pathetic getting this angry over a football game, but this loss absolutely infuriates me. Normally I'm a little upset, then on with my life. Not today. I just can't wrap my head around how bad Frost has done at Nebraska, but objectively it's worse than any coach we've had since TO. He's freaking horrible. I can't hardly think of a redeemable quality of his program.

I am beginning to think the we are Nebraska angle is actually the wrong way to turn this around, it doesn't work today, we haven't done anything in a generation. don't live and preach the past, make your own mark and forget a history that is long gone.

I was off the hype train last year . I never thought I'd do other things other than watch the game but I have this year.....I can't watch that garbage. I haven't listen to a post game for two years, I don't want to hear anything come out of Frosts mouth other than " I quit " . Nebraska football is dead .

I'm not that angry over it honestly. We actually played a little better than I expected. I've known what this team is for 3 years now and I'm not going to get angry over every loss.

I reached my 'enough' moment during Illinois but was convinced by the post game commentary to the effect that we are a young team that can't handle winning. I saw enough in Iowa and Purdue to be tepidly hopeful.

This game confirmed the Illinois feeling.

I've had enough.

He gets one more year. Not because he deserves it and not because I think he'll turn it around.

I do think he is a dead man walking at this point.
And so is Moos in my opinion.

You repeat this theory a lot, but do you really believe it? You think the B1G is happy Nebraska is here and they want them to succeed? If Nebraska was playing Wisconsin or Iowa in the last game of the year winner goes to the B1G Championship, you think the conference is perfectly fine with Nebraska winning that game? It convenient for Iowa fans to just roll your eyes or laugh at what’s happening to Nebraska. But I think deep down you know why Nebraska fans feel they way we do. You can be fine with it, but please stop acting like the B1G wants anything but the worst for Nebraska .

He HAS to win next year. Sirles is blasting the play calling in the post game. He's pissed. Commented on Adrian missing Miller for 6 at the end of the first half and multiple other plays. Pissed that we didn't see enough of Mills pounding the ball when it was obvious AM couldnt hit anybody.

I'm sure Robinson is a great player, but when the NT or defensive line can bring him down with one arm while engaged on a blocker that means he is too small to run between the tackles.
