miles bridges was coming to us and money got involved at Michigan state and cal backed off.
I don't know what happened with Miles Bridges. But I know a pattern when I see it. Calipari recruited Bridges and settled for Wenyen Gabriel. Calipari recruited Okafor and settled for Towns. Calipari recruited Jones and settled for Ulis. Calipari recruited Blackmon and settled for Booker. Calipari recruited Giles and settled for Killeya-Jones. Calipari recruited Porter and settled for Vanderbilt. Calipari recruited Bamba and settled for Richards. In most of these cases, the player who came to UK went on to excel, because Calipari's staff knows how to develop talent. But the circumstantial evidence suggests Calipari was signing lower-ranked players because he didn't need to pay them illegal money. If that turns out to be the case, then schools that signed the higher-ranked players are in trouble. And if it turns out to be the case, some of our posters will look dumb for criticizing our coaches.

Bridge's family was asking for "extras" behind Cal back while he was still under the impression that Miles was still going to Kentucky. Cal caught wind of this and dropped Miles like a bad habit and got in with Wenyen Gabriel at the right time, Gabriel was never serious about the Duke offer after Cal took over and offered him that summer..

This has been my line of thinking even before this stuff came out!

Same reason Draymond Green and his agent was seen with the Bridges a little before Miles going to MSU, Aike said it in another thread about Bridges making so much he could come back another year..

Cal is not that type of coach, regardless of what other fans and coaches like that fat pig Capel try to make him sound like. Whenever he passes on a player like Bagley, Ayton or Duval, you know there is a reason..

Izzo ought to be ashamed of himself. Makes himself out to be a great family man etc, etc and then gets involved with sexual abuse stuff and then cheating by having players paid to play for him. This shitstorm is just starting and college basketball will implode before too much longer. Izzo should be fired today. The sexual stuff should be enough to take care of that. Just wow. Maybe Izzo will take humanitarian visits to Dr Larry Nassar in the general population at that prison in Az. What a school.

There's a lot of truth in this post, but I would I would quibble on a couple points.

Cal was on Towns for a long time and would have taken him regardless.

Also, Ulis was a reaction to what happened with Mudiay. We did recruit Jones, but I never got the impression there was anything dirty about him going to Duke. Would love to be wrong about that, but I don't see it.
