Never said it was a success-----Just answered the question asked: "Who won when it mattered". I guess that game in 2016 didn't matter b/c there were no expectations, since it was CLEAR that team was going nowhere....Thats cool..

But curious...............You say that game didn't matter because there were no expectations, it was clear team was going nowhere---right?

Cool. Did you have expectations in 2011,when UK was a 4-seed? What about in 2014 as an 8-seed? Did you enter the tournament in 2011 and 14 with expectations----high hopes? Just curious.

As much as I love to talk s*** to Indiana fans, I just can't. I mean, Kentucky lost to St.Peter's and went 9-21 the year before. And, Indiana won the last game that we've played in 2016 (and kicked us out of the tournament). They have also won the last regular season game. That said, you were a Freshman in HS when the Hoosiers won last Natty............and you're 50, and on paper, KY is definitely better than IU, but that's why they play.

I would say both teams won when it mattered in the tournament, but I was not extra upset when Kentucky lost to Indiana in 2016; I mean, we lost, and it did not matter who we lost to. Losing in 2012 would have sucked more, but only because that team had higher expectations, not because they lost to Indiana, but that's just me.

I don't care one way or the other on whether Kentucky and Indiana play; rivalry has gone by the wayside lately anyway. That said, I like the neutral courts (Louisville and Indianapolis) better than I do home and home. I guess that's how it was when I first started following UK sports, and I thought the atmosphere was much better playing neutral sites. What say you?

You do know I'm not a Louisville fan, right?

IU actually IS among the all-time greats:

4th with 5 National titles

8th in Final Fours(8)

7th in NCAAT wins (67)

6th in NCAAT appearances(40)

10th in all-time wins(1,890)

And thats with sucking *** for 25 years...

What validation do I need to seek? I'm just here talking hoops....Dudes like you are the ones derailing basketball chatter with insults, jabs, etc, etc....
Maybe IU was once, but not now. An all time great doesn’t go 20+ years with one trip past the sweet 16.

Your complaints about insults, jabs, etc reminds me of the quote of Harry Truman when it was said he kept giving people hell. Ol’ Harry said: “I just tell them the truth, and they think it’s hell.”

I never want to play them after the December 2011 game, I can promise you that there was one very lucky IU fan that afternoon. They charged the floor and in the melee knocked over MKG. He quickly jumped up and was ready to rumble and out of the blue Coach O grabs him with both hands from behind and drags him to the locker room. Coach O probably saved that IU fans bacon. NEVER WANT TO PLAY THEM EXCEPT IN THE TOURNMENT. NEVER NEVER NEVER.

I think it's a mistake to prop them up by playing them. They don't belong in the same sentence or on the same court as UK, and appearing beside our Cats is only a boost to their program and recruiting. They forfeited the right to play UK with their behavior and treatment of UK fans and our team on our last visit to ***. Hall. I wouldn't renew this rivalry as long as I have breath. I surely hope, at the very least, we don't agree to play home and home. Neutral sites is a must if it is to happen. Returning to that gym would be a huge mistake. I shall not be moved. You can write that down.

Did you ever think that he has agreed to this because he knows he is not going to be coaching at UK when series resumes?
