I am stunned that RU has not done better. However, to me it makes zero sense to change coaches till you change the entire program with REAL facility improvements including a super practice facility, dedicated nutritionist, first class travel arrangements via charter jets, and a marketing plan in place to develop a true fan base. I have said this in the past knowing how the other Big Ten Programs roll. They are run as if they are NBA franchises and the players are in a union. As an outsider looking in I see what most kids see, a program without resources and commitment to winning. I see a program thats not as solid as lower A10 programs. I see a program who will lose recruits to Monmouth, and heaven forbid FDU. I even saw RU is interested in a player from Roselle Catholic who would be more suited for the MAAC conference. Do they think signing this kid will open the door for others? Only in the year 1972 because kids are no longer loyal to each other as much as making it to the next level by any means necessary. Why not break ground on new facilities, get some transfers who will make RU competitive, watch the effort and commitment of players and if there is not much address your coaching situation. But without the tools, even a carpenter cannot do the job. Where is the plan to make RU the sexy school for recruits to consider and eventually sign with!

It is the chicken and the egg argument. How are you going to do everything you say with the current coach? A vision needs to be sold and it is a lot easier with a new coach.

There is something to say for delaying as we would be that much closer to B1G $.

On the way to work on Bloomberg radio they had on an author of a book called or about Superbosses written by professor from Dartmouth. Everything about the "superboss" was almost a polar opposite of what Jordan is....

1. Hands on delegator
2. Surrounds him/her self with people brighter than him/herself

RU has been doing first class charter jets for over 15 years
Don't inject facts into a good rant.

It all comes down to committing to winning & that starts with spending $ for a good coach & staff. We need a new facility & real coaches but can't wait on the facility so go get the coaches.

the same post could have been written 15 years ago. As Rutgers fans we finally have an AD in place that can make things happen and unlike other times we really are going to build the practice facility so we need to find a coach that can sell that vision and the future. Indentify candidates, explain the new commitment , hire them and work with them on a plan to get people to buy back in on hoops again.

Look at Schiano regime. We didn't have the facilities, he demanded them, didn't get everything done but we got upgrades. The coach has to have the ego and the presence to be part of the process and push to get these things done.

Please. Ru is where they are because of a series of horrendous hires starting with Littlepage. Wenzel wasn't bad but he makes a better color guy. Bannon naked free throw implosion. Hill - a very poor coach. Rice another embarrassing implosion. Waters was really the only decent guy and he is not exactly a hot name. Are facilities an issue of course. But please stop the bs. Hire a good coach.

Overpay for a good coach with good assistants and you'll see us start winning. The facilities can come afterwards.

A winning team on the upswing with a clear vision from the Athletic Department will motivate donors to open their wallets.

RU needing to better support the Mens BBall program, and EJ being a terrible coach are mutually exclusive. As in 2 separate things. As in not connected. As in no way related.

Holy smokes...I can't wait until Eddie is gone...we're 0-fer in the B1G for close to 2 full seasons and people are still defending him?!!?!

Let's do all the things mentioned above AND bring in a coach who can actually....COACH!

Not new here. Check out when I started. Just entered the fray when you and the others, I call the trio, started blaming Eddie for the injuries and did not understand why we were losing, which I clearly thought was unfair. An objective person can see that a Hall of Fame coach cannot win with this roster and it appears that point still has to get thru to a few of you.

0-37vs top 250 since our last Big 10 win.....30 straight Big 10 losses, losers of 37 of the last 42 games! 2 separate 15 game losing streaks and one away from tieing the school record....a recruiting class coming in with virtual no offers from other major schools

Rutgers needs to hire craftsman rather than apprentice carpenters which would speed up building the practice facility by 5 years.

Just for the sake of completeness...there isn't a damn thing first class about the charter the team uses. And, they still fly commercial from time to time anyway.

It's private...it leaves when they want it to. Other than that, 90 percent of the commercial coach flights I've taken have been more comfortable than what they are currently given.

The times are changing...Hobbs gets it. Bob got it for football...that's it. Hobbs gets it and has the schools administrations blessing

I wish it could be eddie...but it doesn't look like it

The next guy will get the commitment. Maybe not Indiana commitment...but way more than that we have had.

A start

It's as if they say it enough times, they can will the firing of EJ to come to pass. It's actually comical.
When Hobbs makes a decision at year end about Eddie, what the Eddie detractors say on this message board won't have any impact on his decision. What Eddie's defenders say won't have any impact either.

Last I checked this is a message board, a place to blow off steam and express opinions. The idea that posters should stop expressing themselves because there is no net effect betrays a total lack of understanding of why message boards exist.

I had a comfortable ride with the team to ND on a charter flight. Meals snacks quite enjoyable. I could see though how it may have been uncomfortable when you are 6 ft 5 but unless they are using an Emerates Airbus 380 don't see where the problem is.

I think you guys are missing the point of this post. Hes saying the next coach doesn't win either until changes are made. And not just promises of change in the near or distant future the changes will have to be happening now before the recruits very eyes. This "get a coach with vision" idea is total ********. Noone is going to buy a vision when every part of the program from the facilities to the fan base to the arena is in shambles. "A good X's and O's" coach will help us lose 22 instead of 26, who gives a crap about 4 wins. I said this before, changing the carpet and drapes doesn't fix the house.
