Even the media seems to want us to be good again. Of course nobody has the balls to put us any higher than #25, and I wouldn’t blame them.
I would say having us ranked pre season is stupid, but if we are projecting forward and we now have Dana on board, and Dylan has a full year under his belt.. yeah, that’s reasonable

Super easy schedule on first glance, 2 toughest teams, OSU and USC are home games. Watch out for Duke on the road though.
The annual sneak the Huskers into the top 25 routine. Time to earn it Rhule! Would rather see us out and then slowly build our way to the top 12 taking down teams left and right … making a statement with Michigan in Lincoln next year. GBR!!!!!
Only Alabama having a 2 and 10 season could equate to FSU this year. And please let that happen.
Going from 13-0 and crying about not making the playoffs only to get destroyed in the bowl game and go 2-10 the following season. I don't think there is anything Illinois could do in 2025 to equate to that.
I sure miss the days of being ranked and following how the wins & losses each week might affect our ranking. Such a simple pleasure. I took it for granted for decades.

With iowa’s tradition of dominant punters it’s a crime to not have them in the top 10. I’m sure this will be the only preseason poll that will dare to snub the perennial punting powerhouse.

Websites need clicks in the offseason for their business/income and they know that many Nebraska fans will oblige.

There is so much wrong with this Top 25 I don't know where to begin.
1. Illinois will be good this year, but Top 10 is pushing it
2. Nebraska needs to learn how to win football games before they deserve to be ranked
3. No f'in way the SEC deserves 10 teams in the Top 25
4. USC deserves to be ranked over a lot of teams on that list.
5. Clemson is not deserving of the Top 10
6. One SEC team that deserves to be on it Ole Miss is not.
7. Oklahoma is one a downward trend no way should they be ranked
8. LSU is in the rankings only because their name is LSU
9. BYU is ranked too low they are going to be very good
10. Like Nebraska, Auburn needs to learn how to learn how to win football games. Being close to a preseason top 10 list is almost as laughable as Illinois being in.
I could go on, but this is 10 things that are terrible about that list

The Athletic is not buying any hype. We are not in their Top 25 and don't even get a mention as maybes. They are right.
This board, on the other hand, will be overflowing with red kool-aid by late summer and just before the season starts. It never fails.

I don’t understand why people are surprised by this, or even frustrated that this would be the case. Of course people will be drinking the koolaid. It happens everywhere. And I don’t think it’s so terrible and detrimental that this happens.
