More 'evidence': they have us 7th in their b12 power ratings after week 1.

I bet the guy didn't watch our game.
I just have to laugh. Hope our team uses it as motivation.
i guess TCU had a more impressive game scratching by a pedestrian FCS team to whom they gave up 41 points.
I guess dominating an SEC Missouri is less impressive.

Chazz in fairness WVU hasn't provided much optimism over the last few years. Saturday was an awesome way start to the season. There doesn't have to a chip on anyone's shoulder. Just 5 wins in the first 6 games and all is good! WVU will get their ranking if the wins keep coming. Saturday was great and on to Youngstown St. Which by the way is very good on that level. My kid plays for Duquesne and I was in Youngstown for that game. The maniac Youngstown St head coach has a lot of quality high level transfers on that team. They have D1 talent at a lot of positions. Their OL is massive. Note: their best RB got hurt and it didn't look good. I see an easy win obviously for WVU but it wouldn't surprise me if the first half was a bit closer than expected.

I was being partially tongue in cheek
and poking fun at the conspiracy fringe on here
But if you look objectively we were more impressive than a few of those teams.
I agree we will earn it if we keep winning.
Good info on YSU. They usually do have some fbs talent.

Always amazed how certain posters always are in a rush to proclaim nothing wrong with disrespect for WVUs programs which are harmed from a recruiting and exposure perspective every time people blow up every failure and ignore every success.

How many other programs must win five or six games in a row - half a season- to be ranked. And by that I mean teams with as much success as WVU has had over the years.

All they could say about Mizzou prior was how many pts Mizzou would score on WVU. WVU won decisively, they should be getting some respect- after all they were up huge on an SEC , SEC program until the final few minutes of the game.

This year isn't last year or the year before, it's now, and that is what the team playing now should be evaluated on.

Ok. Add them to the list.

We probably can make a T-shirt to sell over this and included the word "F***".

we do it to ourselves.

Who cares about ESPN anyway. Plus, we didn't dominate Missouri. Their offense is not that good and had tons of open receivers all game, but their qb couldn't throw the ball close to them.

WVU has a lot of room for improvement!

ESPN... ...I very rarely visit their website anymore (and when I do the 'news' is old and not updated very often). I ONLY watch one of their channels when a game of interest is on (although they do own the rights to a lot of quality content).

I have zero interest in anything other than actual games that they offer. Wasn't always that way... ....but then I watched MTV when they use to actually show music videos too. They're losing focus......

1. - Texas - They played a top FBS team and staged an amazing comeback, they deserve the top spot.

2. - WVU - Actually played a team in FBS, from a P5 conference, that probably will be the #4 team in the SEC east. Not too shabby.

3. - OK St. - Biggest FCS win of the bunch.

4. - Baylor - Second biggest FCS win, so they are next in line.

5. - TCU - SD St. is no slouch, so they get the W.

6. - TTU - Stephen F. Austin, really?

7. - OU - The biggest loss of the weekend in that Boren will not support Houston for a B12 expansion slot.

8. - KU - 1st win in 16 months. Pfft!

9. - KSU - Lost to a good Stanford team, but hey, it's early in the season.

10. - ISU - WTF?

Just as valid as ESPN, maybe more so!

If a program hasn't been ranked in a few years in the final polls it is not disrespect to expect a team to win a few games to prove their worth. The answer to your question is simple. It doesn't take 5 wins against mediocre competition for Oklahoma to be ranked but it does take several wins for a WVU or a Pitt to be ranked. You must look at that as disrespect. Weird you don't get it! Unless I'm wrong Mizzou wasn't ranked so beating your chest about that win is kinda dumb. Good solid win that means more later but a couple more wins and WVU will be noticed. Respect is on the way for WVU if they win. Then you can break into a "I told you so" thread.

Hey i didn't think you were interested in anything other than expansion gossip. Do you ever actually post about football? Like the Xs and Os? Did you ever play or just a fan?

Says Bud Bundy, the peewee league splinter collecting phenom! LOL.

Too bad you sprained that toe in the the warm-ups against Johnson's Port-A-Jon's. It would have been the NFL for sure. Greggie, I can always count on your internet tough guy act to provide me with a laugh.

Speaking of Bundy's. WVU plays Al's alma mater this weekend. Ed O'Neil played LB for YSU in the 60's.
