What I remember the most about Pat Hobbs is when C Viv was celebrating her 1000 victory or whatever the # was, Pat Hobbs tried to get in EVERY photo. Ones that he had no business being in like the one with her and her Cheney state players. At one point they had to tell him to get out of the pic. Pat Hobbs is about Pat Hobbs. But this is a screw job by the ledger.

Go back a page and see what I told you about Delaney.
It’s a direct answer to your post

There is zero chance we get into the B1G without a market to monetize.

Either way, none of that reflects positively on BM decimating the whole dept to fund football. His job is to look after all sports. That includes fundraising. He sucked at it, hence the other sports dying on the vine.

I have insight into the lax program. I am sure others were similar. What we were working with was a complete dereliction of duty.

If going to also ran bowls while every other program we have gets it's teeth kicked in while opponents post photos laughing at our facilities, I'll pass.

Aren’t our facilities catching up?
And in my post I already agreed with you on monetizing the market

I also remember Pat coming into the MLAX locker room consoling players after a tough loss. No cameras, no media. Just a guy who cared.

In that scenario we are Temple with 15k fans..yeah attractive

We aren't Temple. We are in the NY DMA. That's the point.

Temple could go 12-0 every year and it wouldn't have mattered. Wrong market.

Our mediocre record made us palatable, sort of, to the B1G. But it was always a money play. They don't give af about that at the end of the day. Academics and market.

And BM sold the house for that mediocrity. There was a better way to do it. But it required fundraising. Something he absolutely sucked at.

Philadelphia is the 4th ranked TV market in the US and has rabid sports fans.
Temple University meets none of the criteria of a B1G school, but if it was a land grant State/Resarch University with a good football team while we’re still going 3-9 every year... I don’t think we get in

Rutgers is in the number 1 market. That's a lot of money. Penn St. already draws the Philly market.

Now, more than ever, I do believe Schiano will be back. This is the type of drama you get with him. Sure sounds like the deal is ready to happen but Hobbs is in the way so.....

OK, so with Barchi’s support of Hobbs that just happened, where do we stand?

My whole point stands...rutgers had to win at a certain level to get in. Do you think President McCormick lied to me. Please tell me you had access to more information than him

Did you ask him about how our DMA played a role?

Maybe he lied, I don't know. He had a drinking issue right?

Of course, non of that matters as to why BM let every other sport die on the vine just for football. He couldn't fundraise, one of the biggest jobs of an AD.

And for everyone here. I’ve known Real for what, 12 years or so.
He knows his stuff and doesn’t post stuff like this just to mess with people.
Skoolie is a great dude and knows his stuff as well. There are a few others that when they post, they are doing so with the best intentions and have very solid info.
Thanks guys!

I can’t believe I read that entire thread of mostly conspiracy theories etc and no one has yet connected Alvarez and that Amy Robbins (Towers) is a Wisconsin alum.

or suggested that Brown might be trying to recruit Alvarez to RU to become AD only for it to backfire and Brown decides to become huge Wisconsin booster, instead.

Reminiscent of Dahntay Jones trying to recruit Jason Williams to RU and ultimately not only losing him to Duke but then transferring there himself.

cmon, internet fans! Let’s not lose our mojo now.

As far as I am concerned we have been in a recession for a decade, but even if we have another severe recession, I would think most people are more likely to cut back on concerts, travel, restaurants, plays, new clothes, jewelry , etc, than cut back on TV. I could see no large increase, but I don’t think we will get less in the next TV contract especially with all the new outlets I don’t use like Hulahoop, Youface, Instaflickerstitch, etc. Just my two cents.

Only problem is that no one in PA or Philly give a crap about Temple. It's all PSU.

This is absolutely true. They've started to draw more interest the last some years since they've gotten better, but this is Penn State country. No doubt about it.

Not me. If a ****** lacrosse program is the price to pay for a bowl eligible RU Football most years, then I'm buying.
