Just what we haven't had in a while, a reason to be happy in the fall.
In all seriousness, this being the Friday before the homecoming game against Vandy is the perfect time and could make for a great fall weekend.

But the fans will spend their money on baseball tickets, parking, concessions, etc that could be going to the football program that weekend. How dare they give those fans a choice to spend their own hard earned money elsewhere on a club sport when everybody knows football is king in Starkville!**

Blow off the wedding and tell them they should have known better than to have a wedding in the Fall in the South.

Unfortunately not possible. I am walking the Bride. (It's my daughter)
Ok... Your daughter is having a wedding during the fall. It's understandable that given her lineage she wouldn't want to have it during baseball season. But your future son-in-law is ok with a fall wedding? He must be an Ivy League or Group of 5 guy...

Au contraire, then you are totally at fault for not instilling that virtue in her, NO WEDDINGS DURING FOOTBALL SEASON!
The only acceptable exception if it's on the day of the national championship game and you're working the reverse mojo.

I know you're a Yankee, but its taboo in the south to get married in Football/Deer Season
My sister-in-law chose Thanksgiving Day, 2005 and overlapped the game. To this day, you can’t convince me that wasn’t intentional so the family on both sides of the game had to give up the Egg Bowl. I snuck in a radio and earpiece and (literally) provided score updates to wedding party members during the service.

Her choice meant it was 6 years between me seeing us beat UM in person. Of course, thanks to a horrible infection picked up during a 2019 Thanksgiving-week work trip to the West Coast, I’m currently at 13, but who’s counting…
