I had tickets for that game but had to cancel our trip for a work emergency. I still managed to taunt my Domer brother-in-law relentlessly that night. I also won a bet that required him to wear a Northwestern t-shirt for an entire Saturday. I have the photographic proof, and it is sweet.
What a game. Kyle Prater, Nick Van Hoose, Touchdown Trevor...so many heroes. And to do it in South Bend. Great memories.
My favorite part of the game was Brian Kelly’s fundamental misunderstanding of when to go for two.
My second favorite part was my kids pretending to be JJ and... Alviti in the yard after the game.

Who were the 4 NU ball carriers to run it straight up the gut in the red zone for easy end zone points. JJTBC was one. Can you name the other 3?
8 different Wildcats were credited with game changing plays of 40 yards or more. Seriously. How many can you name?
One NU player was credited with making the exact same play twice in the game. Without both, we don’t win. Who was that NU hero?

Without looking I recall Matt Alviti had a TD and Traveon Green had a massive run.
AWalk INT; Van Hoose 2-pt return and I remember Prater with a ton of catches.
Siemian's parting of the golden helmet sea for a rushing TD is one of the more funnier plays I've seen in a football game. It was like a game of tag and Trevor was "it". Anti-defense. I don't know what was worse for the ND coaches, the game itself or watching the film afterward. Yikes!

We have Green, Prater, Walker and VanHoose with 40+ yard plays. Four more to go.
Gold star recognition for anybody who can name the NU player who changed the game by making the same must have big play twice.

Here's the rest of the story.
Trevor, Cam Dickerson, Mitchell and JJTBC all had 40+ yard plays. That's 8 in all.
And Jimmy Hall was Johnny on the spot twice in recovering both the goal line ND fumble and the one that gave Mitchell his shot to extend the game. In both instances a lesser athlete would not likely have gotten there first.
What a game.

Who was it that caused the late fumble? Drew Smith? Lots of good players on that roster. That team should have had more wins. Tough season.
I. Campbell caused the fumble. One of the best defensive plays I’ve ever seen. Late in the snap count he changes the defensive alignment to place himself on the edge of the LOS. Perfect call. The ball was coming his way. Then he defeats the TE block before changing direction to go directly for the strip. Had enough leverage to rip it out and Hall beat the nearest ND player to the ball.

The obvious answer is Jack Mitchell.
What a play is right, but it would never have happened had it not been for the stupidity of Brian Kelly. I believe that there was 1:39 left on the clock when the imbecile elected to run the ball rather than take a knee. Even if ND had not gotten a first down they either could have run out the clock or punted on 4th down and pinned us deep with no timeouts remaining. The things my ND pals said about Kelly afterward were not fit for publication. It's just so much fun to watch that idiot suffer. His excuse for actually running a play, after the game, was that the kid who fumbled hadn't fumbled all year.

How 'bout Trevor throwing 2 beautiful bombs that likely would have gone for a TD each time, except was dropped?
The Trevor-to-Prater connection was also on in the 4th Q of the M00N game.
If the coaching staff didn't have a total brain fart, that team (despite having been severely depleted from injuries) would have beaten Wisky, PSU, ND and UM.
