So after the game CBS Sports had an article highlighting three items from the Illinois game, two about Nebraska.
First topic was players come and go but this is a poorly coached team and the only thing constant over the past four years was the coaching staff, the second topic was its lack of talented players.

Second to last series, is the first time I have really seen Adrian fight for it. Go back and look at the film. Then look at the next (last) series, and it was like Adrian was a different person. If you see this comment Adrian, I want you to compare those two series. You have to play like the second to last series, ALL the time. That is what it takes to be a winner on the field.

Good coaches do not allow the mistakes this team has every single game. Special lost that game yesterday. The safety on the punt from a 9 th yr senior is unacceptable. Nothing with AM surprises me anymore. Not a D1 QB

Bring back Tommy Armstrong. Not the most talented, but a fighter. Remember him getting knocked out of game at tOSU?

Good coaches would take that film and show AM the difference and build upon that. Problem is, we do not have good coaches.

Yep.

Different players, same mistakes.

Wasn't that long ago we had JD Spielman fair catching punts on the 2 yard line.

Hard to believe it actually got WORSE than that, but here we are.

What is sad is two plays that turned this game were committed by Team Captains: Cam Taylor-Britt trying to field a punt inside the 10 yard line, and AM laying the ball on the turf for a scoop and score. Way to show the team how to be a team leader guys!

That about sums it up.. Any return man knows not to catch a punt or try and return a punt inside your 5 yard line..

Getting frustrated with AM Turing the ball over and in year 4 SF still doesn’t have another QB ready to compete or replace him..

One more would be the interception when leading 9-2 ended up be roughing the passer and a personal foul giving them the ball back with a 30 yard penalty also flipped the game considerably..

Well a lot of talented players will actually look bad with coaching that fails to develop them or keep them properly motivated in a game. Too bad that we've had more 4 star players than many of the opponents who have defeated us. That's because the other head coaches develop their players and keep their player's heads in the game to avoid those stupid mistakes that keep killing us and causing us to lose close games.

Yes it's the start. Most if not all of these guys have little or no experience at the p5 level. This is a rag tag group of friends who thought they could coach with the big boys

Yeah, but think about that. After 4 (20?) years, we are still 2 bad plays away from losing to a likely average team. Every team, every week, can pick out 2 plays that were bad. Not every team loses because of them.

I actually felt like that was one of his low points of a career fighter. But I agree the guy had extreme heart when he played.

armstong could run in traffic (except osu) and could lob a ball enough for a receiver to run under it.

They all need to be shown the door. It’s year four and we make the same mistakes over and over that a well coached high school team wouldn’t do. It’s an insult to our once great program and the fans, at least the few of us that will stick around. This would not stand at any other football program with an ounce of respect. It’s disgraceful and I can’t wait to see the headline that they are all gone. If he somehow turns this team around this year, I will gladly be wrong, but we all know that’s not happening.

Greg austin and Mario Potter need to be shown the door asap
It's not happening of course, but this would be the only chance Frost could save his job if he just replaced his entire offensive staff by tomorrow.

That’s what happens when you hire from the buddy system.. That was the biggest question I had when hiring SF was how good are these assistant coaches took me last year to admit what I was questioning..

Another thing 2AM should look at is the Illinois pass down to the 1 yard line. That was great coverage, but this is college ball and you have to expect your receiver to take it away from the d-back. Guys are not going to be running around open be 5 yards at this level. If you got one of our big receivers with one on one coverage throw it and make the receiver prove he belongs on the field.

Do you guys remember how Barry Alvarez and Wisconsin copied our formula and ran their program from the AD's chair?

What is to stop Trev from calling Scott in and telling him, this is the offensive and defensive systems you will run?

Hands him TO's playbook.

Not out of the realm of possibilities.

Both Texas and Nebraska have had their share of troubles and great memories, since this one, with Scott Frost.

And he has actually landed a couple. Just can't keep them. Out of his graded top 13 recruits, he has 5 still on the team.
For starters, he needs to relax on recruiting Florida. They don’t stay

Liewer had the chance to make a much easier catch and he couldn't come down with it. About the only guy on our team who can make catches like that is Manning, yet he's never on the field when we run those types of plays.

Ganz is the best qb we have had since Crouch. Really a shame he didn't get on the field earlier

It’s a little late. The poor kid had one good year at QB, his Freshman season. Since then he’s been inconsistent🤪

Speaking of fight, I found some of the replays showing our receivers all being covered interesting. If a defense is going to load the box and play man coverage a receiver HAS to get open. They should be licking their chops against man. The fact that they can’t seem to is pathetic.

I don’t understand that one either.. And you have thought he would have at least sent him down the seem at least once during the game…

I don't know what the heck our receivers are doing most of the time. They just jog around everywhere and then they just stand there right next to the defender not trying to get open. They have no idea how to play off the defender or even make a cut to get open. I turned into a fatass this past year, and I guarantee I can still run better routes than that.
