This is true. MBB has never recovered from the RR debacle....

Are you kidding me with this Rick Ray crap? We simply did not endure the blow from Rick Ray yet. We had a 5 seed team two years ago, and couldn’t even get 10,000 to the hump on a Saturday. That’s the best team we have had since 07-08. Yet even that couldn’t generate much excitement. We are still paying hard for that terrible, lazy *** hire. Stricklin should have been fired immediately after.

I will say though, in all fairness, the recovery was hampered by WBB's rise to prominence as the men were scraping bottom. They might not have to contend with that anymore.

FYI, Loaferz is bailey howell's SIL. No way he was ever getting fired.

No, the team never recovered from the Renardo Sidney debacle. The Rick Ray debacle was just a kick while we were already on the ground

Its flat-out unbelievable that Arkansas hasn’t been to the Sweet 16 in a quarter century. Had no idea it had been that long for them.

Yeah Arkansas has had a lot of seasons since then where they’re above average enough to land in that 8/9 seed slot which kinda sucks and is like no man’s land because you end up facing the #1 seed in the second round. There are times I think we’d be better off losing a couple more games and ending up as an 11 seed or something. Tougher first game but easier path after that.

Right now according to Sixpack there’s a laundry list of coaches to fire AND the athletic director. Better be drumming up some serious cash for all these buy outs.

With this economy and all the money we made from tickets to ****** smelling cups we can buy just the coaches we deserve if we dump Howland right now.

When I was at state 2003-2006, we knew we were good. Stans had it rolling. The .06 second loss to Kentucky was the Zenith in terms of basketball fan support. Unbelievable atmosphere, but we couldn’t push that rock over the hill. It’ll never happen. GET used to it. It doesn’t matter who our next coach is. I was at the most pivotal game in MState b-ball history. And it sucked

Quit your bitchin’

college basketball is a shell of its former self.

So all of you smart fans on here disagreeing with this are ok going with going to the Tournament just once in 6 years of a coaches tenure?
That to me is pretty damn dumb. Also it says you just don’t really give a 17 !

I know this will get lost in this thread and I really do understand your anger, but there is a time and place for everything.

I am sure you do not want to have Cohen hire the next guy.
Howland has the makings of a good team for next season from a bunch of bench warmers last season that could fall on their face or maybe turn things around.

Our Women's coach is getting another year no matter what.

We have had a terrible year money wise and look to have another one this year.

How do you plan to pay for buyouts and A new quality AD and men's coach this year?

We need to let Howland, Cohen and the benchwarmer ride one more season and hopefully get covid down enough to put some money back in the pot for making these changes in 2022.
