Great article

I said the same thing earlier in the season. The only thing holding him back is his confidence.

How awesome is it that here is this kid and he's a true sophomore! The future is bright with him and with Eugene.

Really doesn't have a choice anymore....he's going to play 28-35 minutes the rest of the season, so the shot attempts and ball is going to find him. Knocking down a lefty leaner was really the best of his shot attempts vs Iowa, although he took another 3 that looked a little deeper than expected against the shot clock..... and when he let it go, I told myself "no he didn't"....but he drained it....!

The key was he didn't hesitate and shot it with swagger.....If we can find some shot attempts early in each half for Doucoure, RU goes WAY up in potential.

Good article. thanks for posting. Interesting that he admits his hesitation is about confidence.

I see him getting a little better and little more aggressive every few games. Its been baby steps but steady progress this year. With Mike out he realized he had to step up more and played his best game of the year against Iowa. He's the best natural shooter on the team. If he keeps progressing look out!

So far this year he has 129 field goal attempts in 570 total minutes, the exact same amount of field goal attempts he had all of last year in 565 minutes.

So his attempt per minute is almost the same at around 4.4 per minute.

He's shooting with a lot more confidence this year, but still I would like to see him with 5-7 more shots per game.

Also loved when he drove the lane from the top of the key early on against OSU and even though he missed the chippie finger-roll, I love that he showed he can do that. Serious match-up problem for defenders. If there is one thing he really needs to work on it's elevating his jump shot release point, which is way too low - he needs to learn that from Sanders.

This may be a really dumb question but did Issa grow since last year? I thought he was 6’7” and now he’s listed as 6’10”.

Agree with you about everything, except for Duke. He's not ready for B1G play. Game moving way too fast for him. Shame we couldn't red shirt him. Still love his upside.

I will say that I really really like Williams and I was devastated when I heard we lost him...but him going down might end up being one of the best things to happen for thiam's development since we are now desperate for 3 pointers..it will force him to take shots this year that he otherwise wouldn't have. Hopefully by next year he's fully confident.

Michigan plays a 1 3 1 zone. The key may be Issa hitting that corner 3 or being a legit threat. That shot will be open with good ball movement.
