I hope Pike learns from this game for the future.
The isolation offense we were attempting to run at the end of this game and other games CAN work consistently, but only if you have legit NBA talent on the roster, which we don't have right now.
If you're going to score in this set, 2 things have to happen:
1. You clear out the lane and the ball handler needs to stunt, jelly, or clown on the competition to get to the hole.
2. You drive and kick to a shooter who is straight buckets 40-60% of the time behind the arc.
Currently, we can do neither consistently in regular game situations let alone late game NCAA tourney situations.
Much prefer we run our "normal" offense in late game situations where we work to get 1 or 2 decent looks throughout the entire shot clock until we get the NBA talent needed to run legit ISO.
