i think he will go down as a SGA, herro recruit. guy that is underrated, blows up. cant keep off the floor

brooks better bring it, we might see a lot of jackson/sarr this year
If this is the case, any chance we see a line up of Clarke, Boston, Brooks, Jackson, Sarr? I think Clarke is more than capable of taking over the point for stretches at a time. Would be insane length on the court, but my only concern would be Brooks trying to play the 3. Interesting, though.

If this winds up being true, that he'll be the top big man coming out of this class, or even "one of".. Kentucky isn't losing a lot of games.

I'll never call us winning the title, if for nothing else than the NCAA will try and step in if we make it that far.. But Kentucky just isn't going to lose a lot of games. We'd have a top3 Center, a shot-blocking next level PF, we'd have two lottery wings, we'd have a highly ranked and true incoming PG, we'd then have three great experienced talents.. and to top it off, we'd have bench talent that could start at most places...

All you have to do is go back and see what was said about Jackson when facing his peers at Nike Top 100 2 yrs ago. That is where best of best underclassmen compete for a weekend and Jackson was considered the best defensive prospect several analysts had seen in their time covering HS basketball.

He's an elite defender, a pro level shot blocker--but he can guard 1-5 and hedge/recover is insane. This is the type of athlete UK has not been getting and needed to start getting and finally are--Collins being another, Toppin/Fletcher too. Clarke/Boston obviously but too often the Cats were slower/less explosive team on the floor and this had to be addressed. Skill is great, but so many games at the NCAA level are won with players who can make plays that either keep you in a game or get you a possession by their individual talent/abilities. Think Poythress in '14 run on several plays be it Louisville, Michigan, Wisconsin, Marcus Lee's '14 run, and then think of a lot of plays where UK has lost recently due to a guy not being athletic/tough enough to get a rebound (Gabriel against KSU), Willis not choosing to sprint the floor to get back on defense, Travis not being able to do anything on either end at the rim against Auburn.

'21 will be Kentucky's best defensive team in years. Maybe not right away but usually when Cal says their defense sucks at this time, he knows they are very capable and good, it's just he wants them at an elite standard. When you have rim protection/eliminators, and length on perimeter you can make it very hard to score against and he's got to remember he's got 2 Lottery Picks on the wings his own guys face daily. He won't see that very often when playing opponents.

I feel confident in Sarr being an All-SEC type player, but if we can get another front court guy like Jackson to be around that same level then watch out. Cause pairing two monsters in the front court with Boston and Clarke will be deadly.

That’s the kind of team Cal wants. Big at every position, great length and shot blocking potential from multiple positions, easy switch ability. The best Cal teams run and gun and swiftly transition after blocks. That’s been lacking in some of the more recent teams, but maybe not this one it seems.

Gonna be a fun year—especially if these rumors about Jackson come to fruition.

When Cal states repeatedly In October/November that he has a good team, then you know there’s something there. He doesn’t usually say things like that unless they’re true. Not this early anyway. I’ve heard him say it on several occasions. I’ve also heard him refer to them as a “special group”. I’m stoked!

Great news I’m sure his recruiting ranking is part to do with his size but he will be a beast at the college level. His weakness is low post offense and that’s something we don’t need from him. As far as minutes I think the big difference is Ware won’t play much unless there is foul trouble or a team is too big inside and Jackson is struggling.

There’s also something to be said for fit. He’s maybe not an ideal PF in the NBA yet they want guys who can bring the ball up and shoot 3s. His strength is Shot blocking and rebounding with athleticism to get up and down the floor and play great D that’s what Cal looks for first in a big.

Should be dominant defensively in college. Doubt he will be a lotto pick though. That defensive athlete/Noel type player isn't really valued anymore in the nba unless they can shoot 3s
