There was a fat, addled, girl who worked in a local Go-Mart who claimed to be a Navy SEAL. She was about 20.
Shortly after we moved back here, there was a guy in fatigues sitting at a light at an interstate exit with a cardboard sign saying, "Homeless Vietnam Vet. Please help."
As I got closer I recognized him. He was a guy I went to junior high and HS with. Nixon pulled combat troops from Vietnam in '72, we graduated in '74.
The light changed and I was up on him. I yelled "Howya doin', Jack? Were you in Vietnam before or after I met you in seventh grade?"
He didn't recognize me, but that didn't stop him from cussing me with all his drunken might.
