Trump bringing the pain (not). Maybe if Trump fell in love with Xi then this all could be worked out.
Don't count on Trump. He's been wrong on trade for 30+ years. Hopefully you dumb democrats can run a moderate, pro trade candidate in 2020 that is at least a smidge more popular than Hildabeast. .

Whatever you say, pro tax 79!
Never said I completely agreed with present policies. The only thing that is certain is the past administrations trade policies (both Republican, and Democrat) have been and continued to be a complete disaster. And there has never been, and never will be “Free Trade”.

A complete disaster that built us into the greatest economy in history, amassing the greatest wealth in history? I don't get that argument at all. I understand the recent globalization has made some jobs, workers, industries more obsolete - and while I genuinely feel for them, tough ****. Freer, global trade is better for us as a whole and re-training those left behind will only increase efficiencies (thus, again, making us even more rich). Trade has not been a disaster. It has been unfathomably great, but has left some people behind.

China has already said it's ready for a new trade deal. It's certainly not going to be "status quo" from here moving forward. Wonder what made them change their minds?
